Virgin Blue underwear

Has anybody seen the new range of Virgin Blue knickers.
They were released last week in Grace Bros.
G Strings with "Mile high Club" and "Carry-on baggage" printed on the crotch. They had a Virgin Blue girl there for the unvieling, so after 1000 questions from pax re the TV show, its another round of degrading comments for female f/a's as "they have to be a bunch of horny bitches" "being away from the boyfriend for so long and all"
this was a quote from a pax coming from PER to SYD last week.

Sir Dick you've done it again , you clever marketer, take a bow !!!

Peanut,

I thought they didn't wear nickers.
No-undie Sundie, no-undie Mondie etc.

How times are changing!

ShesGreatintheGalley 13th October 2003 09:29

virgin have a fantastic pr team and someone with their head screwed on right to be able to pick these things that will obviously sell well. i feel genuinley sorry for the FAs though... they will prob get these sort of comments even more. you cant market an airline in a 'sexy' way and not expect something to come out of it.

at least it will keep paxs minds off air rage etc!

At the risk of being rude.....

I can't help myself but....

Here's a new logo for the boys range....

"Pull to inflate"

:O

I haven't until now heard of this latest Virgin promo, but we do live in a society where "sex sells" and it does work. Companies are pushing the limits further everyday albeit to the detrement of the staff who have to face the brunt of it from the public they have to deal with. Thats not fair on the staff and although some of the crew at Virgin are probably quite happy to participate in the advertising I bet most of them will get sick of the comments from pax that should know better. If I was asked what undies I was wearing 5 times a day I could make a killing in sexual harrassment cases. They are opening themselves up for trouble.
But it's funny how things have changed. I remember a television ad for the original Australian Airlines, probably only 15 years ago where a male flight attendant was walking down the aisle and all the female pax were checking out his butt. That ad was pulled because it was deemed too sexy. I enjoyed it though, and it made me fly TN.

Just hope Sir Dick, does'nt want to start selling them during the flights :-)

Sorry but it had to be said.

And I do feel soory for all the FA's mile high has done nothing to enhance your reputations.

For the boys' range:

Jump and slide, two at a time!

Back to anonymous browsing, now.

I think the guys range actually does have "Rock Hard" written on them...hahaha...Seriously!

Personally I think it's quite cute. I want the ones that say "Mile High" ;)

And let's face it, sex sells, so it's quite a good business idea on 'Sir Dick's' part.

Sir Dick???
Hope he's not going to put his signature on the mens' underwear :uhoh: :oh:  :\

Sorry, I had to...

Jinkster 17th October 2003 22:03

Is this the same for Virgin Atlantic because I am flying with them in November to LA?

Lunachick 20th October 2003 15:49

Virgin Undies...

I fly for DJ and haven't had a pax comment on the new underwear range yet... I have been asked if I was in FHM shoot a few time tho... Yes sex sells...

Virgin Undies

SO the QUestion is do you sell the underwear on the flight??

Then that leads to the obvious next question, which i won't say here :ok: :ouch:

smile 24th October 2003 13:10

The underware is not Virgin BLUE underware -- it is purely "Virginware". The Virgin brand name is attached to many different items such as Airlines, trains, bridal, music, cola and phones. Yes they have used the obvious connection of the brand name to airlines on some of the underware designs, but they have also used this connection with music in some of the designs too.

I can't see us selling these items onboard (in the near future) as they are not "exclusive' with the VB brand name, not to mention that the merchandise we do sell has just been updated and I can't see another update happening for a little while yet.

The main association comes from the launch.

They did a bit of a "Joy Flight" around Sydney with a few of the more... ...aesthetically pleasing crew modelling the underwear and serving in it.

Noone on any flight I've operated has asked me about it. Which is good because I don't know anything... ...about anything.... ...at all... ...ever...

... I need a holiday.

I have finished up my job, working for a NZ regional airline, about to start training for Pacific Blue on Monday, and as part of my leaving present, they bought me a pair of Virgin Undies, and i have to say they ARE very comfortable! hehehe
