Staffcv

Hi to all

Just thought I'd make a post asking opinion on the StaffCV website. I joined earlier this year and to me it seems like I am having no look with the site.

I have applied to every airline posible on the website, entered my details as best as possible, yet my resume does not get looked at.

To be more precise - in 318 since I've joined, my cv has been returned in a search 25 times! and looked at manually once - yes thats right 1 time!

If no one is finding my resume in searches or even opening it - how in hell do I get a job with any airline?

It is quite funny actually because my normal offline written resume has been seen by 5 different airlines - all of whom have invited me to interviews. Gulf Air, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Easyjet, and Ryan Air. Yet to Australian companies I am non existant. My resume is great but it will never be seen by QF etc. etc.

How do I get a job in Australia? Am I using the site incorrectly?
Does anyone else feel the same - that is they are invisible when it comes to trying to get a job with teh StaffCV site?

Sorry to winge but it is really frustrating :{

I never really understood the returned in search statistic. Does that mean they're looking for staff but somewhere my credetials don't match?

Hi craic1510

This is on the website in the "Statistics Explained" information.

Number of times your information has been returned in a search. This is the number of times your information has been evaluated by the software when an employer you have applied to, or who you have made your information available to, has performed a search for new staff. This means the software has found your information as a potential match to the employers custom search criteria. You should remember that the StaffCV software allows the employers to review skills during a search at a very detailed level. When your information is returned by a search, it means you probably meet a great deal of an employers overall requirements and considerations.

Number of times your information has been manually reviewed. This is the number of times your information has been manually opened and reviewed by an employer.

Hope this helps a bit. Otherwise you could email them directly and ask them. [email protected]

I've only applied to QF so I need to pay the fee and see whats happening with the other airlines.

How long have you been using the site for?

Good luck and let me know how you get on. :D

thanks for that mate. although I know how the site works - I don't understand how I am never getting returned in a search. My offline resume is accepted very well by all other airlines - but it is impossible to transfer that online.

How can you - by applying online - show people your full credentials and potential? I just think that by applying through staffcv I am never gonna get a job with an australia airline.

Hey dont give up i know its frustrating I felt the exact same way it took about 4-5 months before i got any interviews from staffcv I went through about 3 different interviews and then finally i was successful. I took someone elses advice from this forum, they suggested to keep resending the application every month or so. Worked for me.
Good luck you will eventually get there and the waiting is well worth the end result.:D

Maybe its just that Australian airlines are not looking at CVs at the moment, Qantas has no recruitment planned, so their HR staff wouldnt be looking through the CVs at all.
