What to do on a trip in YYZ
I've got a 5 day YYZ in May and was wondering if anyone knows of any good places to goto. I am staying in the Airport hotel which is about 40 mins away from town centre.
Any info appreciated. Swoti;) |
Eaton Center downtown of course :D, but also the Niagara falls at 1h30 of drive and the beautiful Algonquin Park (if you intend to hire a car). If you just want to stay in YYZ, there are very nice restaurants, bars, theatres.

Try, in no particular order:
CN Tower (on a clear day!) worth it for the view. Niagara Falls. The Sky Dome. Take a look around Chinatown and see some of the weirdest foods you've ever seen! If your feeling intellectual try the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). If it's sunny, visit a neighbourhood called the Beaches. The Harbourfront Toronto Islands (city park on islands in Lake Ontario, great views of the city). Take a walk along Queen Street West - lots of funky shops and bars and stuff - and check out my old apartment at 759 Queen Street West, it's the one with the pink roof!!!!! Hope that helps, it should fill, a day or two anyway! |
Start your day with a nice breakfast at Mövenpick. Enjoy!

May be heading that way myself.
Anyone know which weekend the Grand Prix is on? |
I'm not sure what bus number it is but the hotel staff will know.
There is a frequent, every 15 min or so, TTC bus from all three airport terminals to downtown. Lots of our F/A's use it. Downtown there are lots of great bars, restaurants and things to see. the harbourfront should be a grat place to sit outside with a beer and relax. If you want to excercise head on down there for a run, you can also rent rollerbaldes. You should have fun. |
Hi,
Human Factor: I think the Canadian Grand Prix (Montreal) is on the weekend of the 8/9 June. Regards TBS |
Try the BrassRail on Yonge Street. A most entertaining Venue I found!
