In-House Cabin Crew Magazines.....Your Help Please!

Hi everyone i'm looking for your help please!

I'm doing some research regarding individual airlines around the world and their in-house (cabin) crew magazines to find out which airlines have them and what kind of things they include.

I'm talking about any magazines either physical copies or online (sites, blogs, forums) that cater for the crew. What kind of things (articles/features) do they include in them? How often do they get published? What are they called? How are they percieved by the crew? Who organises/runs them? and as much general information as possible on them.

Any info or help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Ok but it's not very exciting. We have a weekly publication called 'cabin crew news' and it is full of articles on subjects the airline wishes to communicate to us; safety related issues, product changes, manpower problems, etc. There is no journalism required because it is not intended to entertain, only to inform. There is also a company wide monthly publication called 'in-touch' which is slightly more varied. We also used to have stands full of a Crew magazine from outside the company, the name of which I can't remember, but that was more entertainment; destination articles, funny stories, charity fund-raising, discounts available worldwide, that kind of thing.

The internet seems to have largely superceded the need for magazines.

Thanks Ottergirl.

Yes ours is an on-line 'blog/magazine' as like you say the internet has superceeded hard copies and of course there is the cost factor as well.

Would you mind telling me which airline it is you work for and also if the magazine is generally popular with the crew?

I work for the national UK flag carrier and I wouldn't say that the magazine was popular exactly!More read out of necessity or boredom. Can be very useful if you have trouble sleeping downroute!;)

Ottergirl... if you really have trouble sleeping downroute and CC News don`t help... the Flight Ops publication is a really good help !!!!;)

So's a glass of wine and it leaves me a lot less traumatised! Be worth keeping a copy of Flight Ops news handy if ever I have to visit a dry country though!

With apologies to the authors of these very fine publications!:hmm:
