Pregnant crew - need your advice

Hi folks

I'm in depserate need of some advice from crew who are currently grounded or have been grounded due to pregnancy.

I found out I was pregnant in November, and miscarried at just over 5 weeks. I fell pregnant again straight away, and was grounded again in December. I then miscarried again at 7 weeks.
I've just found out I'm pregnant again. It's still a day or two before my period is due but because I had unmissable symptoms, I've tested early. However, I have a couple of concerns.

It's my hen weekend at the point where i'd be a week or so late, and feel like enough time had passed to be pretty certain I was pregnant and ground myself. Part of me feels it would look dodgy if I was to suddenly get grounded then, as if it is almost a bit convenient. I'm obviously also concerned about miscarrying again, and don't want to waste the companys time by grounding myself early on with the worry of miscarrying early again. But i'm also concerned about any health implications if I were to keep on flying for a couple more weeks.

So i'd like to know what other crew members have done when they've found out they were pregnant, and any advice any one has got, how early on you grounded yourself etc. I've been trying to get in touch with my manager but to no avail.

Thanks

In view of your history, you should surely ground yourself immediately. The The Hen night doesn't strike me as being the best idea, but I'm older, and neither pregnant nor female so maybe somebody with the appropriate chromosomes can answer better.

Well the hen do was booked a couple of months ago, we're going away for a weekend so can't really cancel it. It will just have to be a lazy weekend instead of a mad one :)
Trying to get advice from colleagues who have been in a similar situation too.

I would ground yourself now if I was you. Its not a healthy envirement for someone who has your past history.

I work with a young lady who miscarried, she has been trying for quite some time to get pregnant, she took 4 months off work and fell again almost immediately.

Good luck x

would really strongly suggest that you discuss this with a medical specialist. Every flight attendants physiology would be very different and there is no "correct" answer. I totally agree with Tightslot; in addition i would talk to my treating medical specialist and err on the side of caution

Hope all goes well :)

I have worked for a number of airlines and I have never known them to think a crew member to be dodgy when it comes to pregnancy least of all because of a potential lawsuit. The environment we work in is harsh so ground yourself ASAP! your entitled to! Make sure you communicate by email or written letter to your managers about your situation. I KNOW they would not question it.. they wouldn't dare. Your also entitled to your Hen Do but would avoid posting pics of you "tipsy" in Blackpool / Brighton / London on any social network site. It WILL get back to your company. I would suggest you re-asses how desperate you are for kids.. hen do might not be a good choice then , but that is just my humble opinion.
But good luck all the same :ok:

Think there may be some confusion about my hen do - I certainly won't be drinking, nor will I be drinking at the wedding, and am planning on changing the plans we have made for the hen weekend so that we have a very relaxed weekend, rather than an active weekend as previously planned. Have been communicating with management, and they have been very supportive thus far and insist that obviously my health comes first.
I know someone previously had suggested asking the doctor if I can be referred to an obstetrician, but the post has been deleted now, but I think I may go down that path after my previously very dismissive midwife.
