Qantas LH CC Carmen Bid Run

Rosters with this new bid system(to us) are now posted.
Whats the verdict?

Quite pleased.

Middling seniority in my category. Better trips than I normally get however could be influenced by senior crew being on leave around this time of year?

seems ok...

Didn't get what I didn't want...which is about all I can ask for!
The thing is, with any seniority bid system, I am not going to get a roster full of LA trips(middle also), so if you bid sensibly, then it can(mostly) work for you.
The most amazing thing for me was bidding for two separate days off, and actually getting BOTH, instead of having a trip over the top of them!
Hope everyone did ok....:ok:

As a QCCA cabin crew, it is refreshing to finally have the 'fair share' roster system implemented that we have been promised since QCCA start up.

The unfair trip allocation that preceded the Jeppesen system was causing alot on angst and discontent between QCCA crew because some were constantly getting long trips with good allowances whilst others were suffering (a $10,000 difference in salary was common place between QCCA who were getting 'good trips' and those that were getting 'lousy trips'!).

Seeing as though we have no right to bid for trips, the least we could be offered is a fair spread of work, which seems to have occurred with this new system.

However, I did not receive my first bid preference... and I know most other people did.

Just wondering if you could clarify what you mean about not getting your first bid ?

If you are QCCA then I am pretty sure you can only request days off, bid for courses or buddy bid with other QCCA crew in same base and category , or bid for reserve. There isnt any thing else you can bid for .

yes you are right- but I didnt get my number one preference bid for my days off...

Gotta say it worked for me (as one of the most junior):ok:.Definately got a better variety of flying than with the old CIS system. But then again,as somebody already posted,a lot of seniors on leave or bidded for reserve this roster.so I will reserve judgement for next roster!

So far, so good :-)

This is only the first roster, so I am not making any final judgements yet, but I am very happy with this roster! I am a y/c flight attendant, roughly in the middle of the pack. I got all of my first bids, though I did bid realistically for my seniority (no LAs, etc). I think it helped that my roster as not "unlocked", because my seniority was just above the "unlocking" seniority for this roster run.

My main criticism is the Interbids user interface. It is a bit "clunky". If this could be improved, then the whole Interbids experience would be better.

I think the we should all push the company to provide QCCA crew with some kind of bidding preferences. Would it really hurt if they could at least have some kind of standing bids? It wouldn't have to be honoured strictly, but if the majority of crew could have a small say in where they go, there would be many more happy crew :D
