Sad story and I know the guy involved, sound chap all the same. He just needs to get some help and hopefully it will work for him. I wouldnt consider him a risk to a flight though.

There's more to this story than the press is reporting. I won't go into it, as it would not be appropriate. The guy is a friend of mine and a nice guy, really.

Well he is obviously guilty as he admitted it. I'm sorry but there is no excuse for this kind of behaviour and personally I wouldn't feel safe knowing that this guy was in charge of safety of crew and passengers. What if this happens again and he wants to do something more drastic?

Glamgirl 2nd Sep 2008 19:13

This case didn't really have anything to do with performance at work, it just happens that they're both employed by the same company. I'm not being funny, but what does this case have to do with safety on board an aircraft? The guy is a professional and loves his job. Yes, he made a mistake, but as I said earlier, there's a lot more to this case than has been reported. I will still not go into it, as it's not really anyone's business.

I hope you understand.

If any employee's behaviour goes against company policy, it will be dealt with through normal channels in that company. That is normal for all companies in this country.

I dont know the ins and outs of the story, so dont want to comment, but agree with glamgirl..have flown with him on a number of occassions and he was brilliant.

Both his Safety and Customer Service Skills are second to none, very professional and absolutely loves his job. Hope things work out for the best for him:ok:

I hope things work out for the best for his victim

Restraining order and scheduling

So how's that going to work ? Will crew scheduling take the restraining order into account, or will they not care, and it will be up to the "offending party" to somehow declare himself unfit to operate if they're paired up ?

Or, as a freight carrier I am not at liberty to mention practices, does BA have the right to sack him now ?

tofster 2nd Sep 2008 19:55

There is something in our contracts about not bringing the company into disrepute in the media. I dont think he should be working in an enviroment such as flying. What if he gets a "thing" for another girl that rejects him and they fly together. Will he endanger the aircraft? I don't care how well people say they know him and that he's a good chap. He obviously caused this girl extreme distress.

Carnage Matey! 2nd Sep 2008 20:36

Why not an enviroment such as flying? Why is is behaviour any less acceptable in flying than it is in any other line of work? Why would his behaviour endanger the aircraft? Get over yourself.

tofster,

You know all about this situation anyway, don't you? If fact, don't answer that, as a quick look at your previous posts tells me you do. For someone so worried about bringing the company into disrepute, you were damn quick to highlight it on a public website. I can therefore, only conclude, that this is a deliberately, malicious attempt on your behalf, to stir things up.

I can only echo my colleagues words, in that I have complete faith in this persons abilities onboard. Suggesting that this person, is unsafe to fly is despicable in the extreme. I suggest you think very carefully before writing anymore of your vicious rubbish!
