American Airlines Passenger Handed Purple Form

Hi,

Anyone able to enlighten me please?

Flew DFW-LHR with American on Mon. I was a bit narked as when I booked this flight back in Dec 07 I'd reserved row 41 seats c-g (extra legroom where 5 seats become 4 on 777) for my travelling party, only to be reassigned to row 43 on boarding. One of passengers in row 41 was then given purple/pinky American Airlines headed slip just before arrival at LHR and milling around with flight crew in 1st Class as I left the aircraft.

Was this passenger an airline employee?

Cheers for any help.

Almost certainly - welcome to the world of US carriers where the staff are a LOT higher up the pecking order than the people who pay their wages. It doesn't tend to work that way on non-US carriers.

Bullocks. Christep obviously has some sort of slanted view of the world. Employees don't get some sort of special pink slips.

Perhaps the passenger had a question/issue that they brought up to the crew which is why they were talking with them when you were deplaning.

The pink slip is just a fast-track pass for immigration, normally given to premium pax.
Flew with AA JFK-LHR in the winter, didn't even say anything to the Purser (I guess he read the PIL), but after boarding he came down to me in eco, apologized for there not being room in biz or first, handed me an amenity kit and the fast-track pass (which I didn't need anyway) and wished me a nice flight. So yes, travelling staff are treated a "little" differently on US carriers.

Did you pay for the seat request???? Unless you pay for it there is no guarantee your going to get it. Lots of airlines have the option to request seats however, if half a dozen other pax request those seats whats the check in staff to do???? To get those seats you have to check in early.
So what if a staff member got a fast track slip its a perk of the job, im sure you get perks in your job too!??

I work for a british airline, we give fast track card to premium pax but they are blue they are not pink. The one that we hannd out are issued by the home offce.

I dont know of any pink fast track cards unfortunately, he may have been moved to forward seats because he had aconnection flying somewhere else, its very common for us to move pax before landing so they can leg it after we have landed. i hope this helps.

Iv said it before and Ill say it again.... a request is just that a "REQUEST"! Now if it was called a guarantee then that would be different!
