new airlines that offer staff travel interline agreements
hi all,
with loads of new airlines starting up i was wondering which of theese airlines offer staff travel from london stansted gatwick lhr ?? do skyeurope, airberlin etc etc offer staff standbys for staff that dont work for them via an interline agreement?? thanks all |
Staff Travel Department
Hi Virgincrew99
Have you checked with your Staff Travel Department or your company's Intranet? I doubt those new (mostly LCC's) would have interline agreements. I did a bit of Staff Travel stuff a few years ago and I know that even some "major" airlines don't have interline agreements with others - and some would make you apply to them directly and then knock you back..... |
my airline SOP allow a flightcrew from another airline to fly free (jumpseat) in the cabin.
If a pilot from other airline comes to me and ask for a ride..ill accept him, however this is only valid for single flight.Ie :A to B but not A to B to C. regards. |

crewj..
We dont take them the whole way because 99% of our flights are A to B to A.(the 1% is for charters which are under different rules) And we are not here to accomodate cheap people like you who expect to get a free ride and then complain about it. And yes in the CABIN,we do have security measures in EUROPE.:ugh: and we put you as Jumpseat(extra crew) so we EUROPEANS dont have to pay landing taxes for your sorry:mad: Im interested....can i jumpseat on your airline??????:= |
My understanding is that in the cabin there are 'crew seats' and in the flight deck there are 'jump seats'. I've never heard of a 'jump seat' in a cabin.

Jumpseats
Crew have jumpseats in the cabin - they are just that - ones they jump into and out of for takeoff and landing (oh and of course during turb!)!!:}
|
and they jump back into place when you stand up ha ha!! that's always why i thought they were called jump seats lol :ugh:

to make it clear:8
Jumpseats are for pilots. We dont accept Jumpseats as such..we will provide a seat in a cabin as Extra Crew. I am aware in the USA, pilot at least used to allow other carriers pilots to Jump seat (in flightdeck)if the flight was full. I doubt they still do it. So if you are a pilot and the flight is not full i will let you know JUMP on board:E b ut in the cabin..and believe me you will enjoy the cabin crews much more than us pilots;-) I would like to take this occasion to thank NORTHWEST AIRLINES,CONTINTENTAL,FRONTIER to allow me to JUMPSEAT so many times. YOUR crews have always been great people to me. Also the pilots who allow me to jumpseat(in First;-) ) from Paris to NEWARK (AMERICAN AIRLINES) eventhough i wasnt on their company list. That was in 2000 and ill always remember the captain telling the gate agent that he will take me wether i have a ticket o not because i was a pilot and i had to go to work.. SO Thank you guys!!!:ok: |
