Cabin Crew education requirements

Hello all,

I am currently applying to an airline as cabin crew and one of the requirements is to have achieved G.C.S.E passes in English and Maths. I passed English, but Maths I got a D grade. :{

I currently work as crew, so have the experience. Does anybody know whether it is still worth me applying or should I give it a miss? Anyone with experience of this??

Thanks,

Ian

No harm in applying, then can only say no right? :ok:

I have never been asked to demonstrate or prove my educational details.

I did very well in Maths and English, so have nothing to worry about, I guess it depends a bit on your age.

If you are entering the job at their minumum age requirement, then they might look at it more closely. Most airlines take people at 21, which is stil rather young - only out of high school for a few years. Some even take people on from 18, which is a bit too young in my humble opinion. It is very unlikely that an 18 year old has the life experience and maturity to handle the demanding and complex situations of the job. I'm sure that there are a few very talented 18-21 year olds out there though, good luck to you all.

I think it will depend on the airline. You say you are crew at just now, did the airline you are with take your education into consideration? Most airlines have a maths test at the interview stage, if you can pass the test am sure its not going to be a problem. Practice your maths in prep for the interview. They want to know you can add, subract, multiply and divide, for doing manual bars.

Thanks

Thank you for your replies guys.

Well I have sent off my application form (so fingers crossed) like its been said they can only say no. And its true I believe that some people are not made for education/school but then do really well in the working world.

Anyway will see how it all goes, just the waiting game now. :(
