Aer Lingus

Hi all

Just wondering about aerlingus. when will they be recruiting for cabin crew next? how long is the training? what is the starting salary like? typically, how long does it take before you can fly transatlantic?:ok:

Rumour is that Aer Lingus will be recruiting again in October with a big recruit drive too, suppose to be 200 new crew and they have already taken on about 150 this year.

Training is 4 weeks and can be tough enough, salary basic is about 21,000 pa. Takes about a year or so to get trained for transatlantic but it really depends on how badly they are stuck for TA crew.

Hope this answers your questions. Oh and keep your eyes on the website cause they'll advertise there for cabin crew.

Regards
Carrie

Is it possible to commute when working with Aer Lingus from England to Dublin or do they have other bases? Do they do any nightstops on their short haul routes? Thanks!

Flying Fairy,
The aerlingus operation is not really like some of the UK airlines such as BA and Virgin where you can commute rather easily. EI are mainly shorthaul with a large number of busy 4-sector days. Even when you are finally trained for the A330 it is still a mixture of shorthaul and longhaul.
You will find that most people who work for EI in Dublin are at least within driving distance of DUB!
