A current first aid certificate (obtained within the last 6 months) is a bit of a pain, isn't it??
:bored: :bored:

If you are currently crew they usually accept your first aid training as ok.

Do you need to be a British Citizen to work for Air New Zealand UK ? or do they accept European applicants too ??

Air New Zealand UK Concessions

Hello all

I have an interview with Air New Zealand next week and i have read all the useful information in the forum but i would like to know something more about how the concessions are after a year with the company. Have you got ID 90s with most of the big carriers? Which ones? How is the staff travel department? How do you book your staff tickets? For example, How much are you expected to pay for a return flight to some european destination? My question is due to the fact I would like to commute from Spain if getting the job...

Thank you very much to all,

Danzet

Air New Zealand concessions

hello guys

I have an interview with Air New Zealand next week and although there are some useful information in this forum i would like to know something more about staff travel concessions. do you have to wait a year? how are they after a year? do you have ID90s? have you got concessions with all the major carriers?which ones? for example, how much would be a return flight to Spain? how do you book the tickets? is the staff travel department any good? all these questions are since i would like to commute from abroad if i get the job and i would like to know how easily this can be done.

Thank you very much to all of you and sorry for so many questions,

Danzet

questions questions

If there are any answers for these questions, thankyou.

What is the average wage every month? I know it can change but everyone can judge an average.

what are the consessions?

How is the training done? Are the exams multiple choice or written?

Where is the training held?

How many crew are on the 747 (crew compliment)?

Is there a temporary contract?

CHEERS ALL:ok:

If they say their height requirment is 1m60, why do you think they would break their own rule by taking on people too short? Of course it is strict!!! Crew are there to act in emergencies and need to be tall enough to reach the equipment!

Tertiary qualifications

What on earth are "tertiary qualifications"?? Couldn't find the word in my Swedish/English dictionary nor the Net. :\ :(

948 i think your last post was a bit strong and if not aggressive. A reply such as the height restriction is 160cm. They will not accept anyone less.'

FLYBLUE where are you when a reply like 948's was posted??????????

TightSlot 21st Apr 2006 16:09

Fabulous Flyblue is probably flying, so instead, you get the mean and ugly one on your aisle today!!

948 is unlikely to win an award for charm and civility, but has a point. Asking a question as to whether or not a rule is enforced or is for guidance only, is not the most sensible question for an internet forum. The only possible accurate answer will be "I don't know", and the only sensible people to ask are Air NZ themselves.

thank you 948 for your very... "cheerful" (?) reply. i appreciate your point, but i would like you to understand that perhaps i was, with hope, seeking for some sort of good news or reassurance. yes, that is their stated minimum requirement - i understand and respect that. i only asked this question in this forum in the hope of hearing of someone who knows if they'll open "exceptions", or if they will overlook that aspect due to other qualities they may consider more valuable. i'm not 1m40 nor 1m50. i'm 1m57, i.e. 3cm from their requirement. it's a pity the requirement is inflexible, as quite honestly, i think other aspects are more important, i believe, (such as personality, skills, experience in a costumer-orientated job, dedication, commitment, etc), and therefore in such circumstances maybe a difference of 3cm could be overlooked? that said, i have never worked for an airline, but i would think that it would be strange if there wasn't anything (such as a stool or high heels, as i'm a female, etc) that could, in some way, make up for my "impairment" if that's how slightly shorter heights seem to be seen as. therefore, forgive me for my ignorance, as i have never worked as cabin crew and hence was asking a simple, if not a somewhat naive question (as i would not exactly be aware that it is considered to be a "stupid question"), and in my own ignorance was only seeking an opinion from experienced and knowledgeable, as well as polite people at pprune - therefore there is no need to reply with tone you did, thank you very much.

jettesen, btw, where did you hear of the rumour about easyjet opening up a base in lisbon? i've been to different threads looking for you, for you to tell me more about this but haven't found you... also, your pms are not activated... please say something!
