I actually accepted a job offer from Ryanair too, about 2 years ago when the terms and conditions were slightly better. I applied to them simply because I wanted to fly out of STN.

Steven, try easyJet. Recruiting non-stop for the next few months, including for Milan, Paris, Berlin and Dortmund and all London bases. Hey, it's not a holiday working here, but you are under the UK CAA flight time rules so shorter hours, and the pay would be double what you are earning at Ryanair. With your experience, you stand a good chance of getting in.

Let's not give the guy a hard time for not realising what he was getting himself into. He's new to airlines and therefore is unlikely to know about the working conditions and practices within different airlines. After all, how many of us know which is the supermarket that's best to work for? Or the best shoe store to work for?

Personally, I'd also advise you to go sick if you get an interview, as from having friends who were ex Ryan Air, telling them you need the day off won't get you very far. But that's their opinion. And just my advice.

Hopefully you find an airline to work for where you feel appreciated and enjoy working: there's some good airlines out there and, what's more, the vast majority of them have some great crew's and their the ones who make coming to work bearable when things go tango uniform (and even when things are fine! :-P)
