Hi all, quick question. What is the typical roster pattern for VS cabin crew at LHR and LGW?

Hi there,

Usually 5 trips a month, sometimes 6. Occasionally (if you're lucky) 4.

There is no set pattern on where you'll be sent, all cabin crew work on all 3 of the aircraft types - which means we go to all the destinations.

Depending on the frquency of the flights we get sent to some destinations more than others. Regular on everyones rostas are JFK, EWR, LAX, and MCO.

Less regular but still not infrequent are, for example, BOS, IAD, MIA, BGI, LAS, LOS, DEL, BOM, JNB, NRT.

Then there are the trips that are like gold dust, that no-one ever seems to get! These are for example, GND, TAB, UVF, ANU, NAS, HAV, SYD (via HKG), PVG, CPT and now DXB!

East coast USA is always 1 night downroute, west coast USA is always 2 nights, (with the exception of Vegas where you sometimes get 3).

India, Africa and South Africa are always 1 night, (with the exception of CPT where you get up to 5).

Caribbean trips range from 1 night, to more typically 2, but up to 4.

Far East are always 2 nights. The SYD via HKG is 9 nights.

After a 1 nighter you get 2 clear days off, after any other length of trip you only get 3 days off.

Standby is now monthly, whereby you get a whole month of nothing but standby (only marginally less exciting than a normal rosta anyway!). This is rostered just 4 times in 3 years. I cant really comment on it yet as its only starting next month I believe.

If it helps you, my (very typically un-inspiring) rosta this month is a 1 night Boston, then a few days of unwanted leave (which we are now unable to work through), then a 1 night Lagos, then a 1 night Orlando, then a 2 night Los Angeles.

Virgin Boi is right about the rosters, however the trips that he seems to think are like gold dust i seem to get quite often. Because the roster systems are all done by computer i think it really is just luck of what ever the system has thrown out for you!!!!
