easyJet in Oz?

Hi everyone,

Did anyone see the easyJet ad in the Age on Saturday for cabin crew? Seems as though they are coming down here to do some interviews some time soon. I've been thinking about making the move to the UK for ages and this seems like an alright way to guarantee a job before I get there. Any thoughts anyone?

easyJet in Australia!

Hi Lucyloo!

Yeah, I have read about easyJet coming to recruit cabin crew in Australia aswell - sounds fantastic!

easyJet are the only airline who accept cabin crew with non EU passports, so it's a great opportunity!

Make the right choice!!

hi, i was the same as you, a kiwi looking to come to the UK to fly.
i have been here 7 years and working for a long-haul airline and i have to say.......if you want to work every hour of the day and not have a social life in the uk then go for it. But if not look at other airlines....trust me

THEY DON'T CARE, THEY JUST WON'T WORKERS!!!!

Good luck
:ok:

p.s dont do RYANAIR

I wouldn't bother working for this airline. They treat their cabin crew incredibly badly. You will have no time to enjoy the "lifestyle", you'll be constantly exhausted, you'll have a very "broad range" of passengers. It is not the same as flying for a full service airline, where you actually can have a life flying. I was in London recently and saw a documentary report on tv about it where a couple of journalists went undercover and became flight attendants for easyJet. Their work conditions are appalling.

I guess that is how they keep their costs down - tight schedules, low pay, long hours. I'd rather be a street sweeper than work for an airline like that. I am an international flight attendant and I love flying, but I would never consider working under those conditions. Don't be conned.

flug, wrong airline - the program you watched was about Ryanair. I would recommend working for easyJet though. Guess it depends what you want from the job. Long haul offers trips away with a low wage. easyJet offers good money without the trips.

Hey LucyLoo and others,
I am an Australian Captain with easyJet (ex Australian Airlines) and have been with them nearly 9 years. The turnover among cabin crew is enormous; they get treated poorly, work their @rses off and since there are no night stops anymore, you don't get to enjoy Europe as we once did. We have very early starts (06.00) and late finishes (2330), so you are always exhausted from doing one or the other.
I recommend Emirates, BA, Cathay or anything else if you have a complusion to go overseas. PM me if you want to know more,
Flugbegleiter, you obviously didn't watch that programme carefully, the reporters went undercover to Ryanair you schmuck!!! However, same, same!!
Regards,
CK.

Aussies at QCCUK

Guys...

If you have dual nationality or right to live and work in EU then apply for QF UK - we are a great base and after the current Aussies go back home after their contracts finish it would be good to see more Aussies at the base....

Re - Easyjet - They are a great airline to work for and pay more than other UK airlines however as already said they work VERY hard - but its no secret that they do 4-6 sector days 6 days a week - if you dont want that then dont apply simple as !!...........

There are NO airlines that give you stop overs in Europe anymore apart from the odd BA/BD flight - all UK charters are there and back in a day as well only two sector days tho.....

Good luck to all thos downunder that come up here to work.

I loved EZY

PM if you want to know more, I was CC with EZY and loved it. YES you work hard but we were treated very well, and yes I have worked with other airlines :} I am an Aussie also.........

SallyEZY 14th Mar 2006 15:28

I'm a german girl and work for EZY in Germany now for 2 years...the money is very good, I have enough time for my social life and the last 6 month never been working 6 days in a row.....

It's hard work but it's also great fun

I konw you can compare the german base with a UK base but EZy is a better employeer many other german carrier...

Think first

Please people think carefully before rushing into woking for these outfits in the UK.

Like others have said it is very hard work for little return and cost of living ie accomodation is very expensive.

Dont think the experience will get you a foot in the door back home.
Many dont really give a toss if you have experience... this I have gathered over the years.

Sorry dont mean to be negative, just want to say think about it carefully first.

FLYBABE, I work for an airline, a charter airline that pays me nearly 600 pounds to stay in cancun, maldives, orlando etc. with trips and basic wage i can bring in 2000 pounds and im a jnr.

Easyjet, Everyone is right in this. DONT FLY FOR THEM. Talk about making you work till you fall asleep on your crew seat. Id say they are better than ryan air but thats it.
