I no that none of the charters accept p.t crew but does anyone know of an airline that takes p.t crew, I left a charter to have a baby and want to get back flying.

Any help appreciated.

Hello!!!
I know that at Virgin you are allowed to go part time if you have children. Although it is longhaul you only to 2 trips per month, which means that you are home for about 26 days out of the month!! I believe that you are allowed to do more trips if you want to, but they actually only roster you 2! You may have to join full time, but are able to go part time once probabtion is finished. Hope this helps! I have heard that Virgin as a company are a lot nicer to their part timers than full timers!!! X

Hi

Thanks daisy dolley, I live in Manchester, so commuting would not really be an option. I think its really unfair as I feel I have so much to offer, I dont know how they get away with not takeing part timers on no other industry would get away with it. Ive never heard of an airline doing job share either.BACX used to take on pt crew but Ive rung them and they dont anymore.

Come on, some one must want me!!:{

Thomsonfly offer 50 and 75% contracts

The only drawback is you have to join on a full contract and apply for part-time and theres a long waiting list!

Thanks, unfortunately I am not in a position to start off full time, I need pt from the start. Anyone any ideas for ground jobs?

Thanks

Hey myt! I am in a similar position and am looking for p/t crew as well, though I don't have children!
Back to your Q about ground jobs, I know CX (Cathay Pacific) were looking for part-time customer service agents at Manchester Airport, but they have stopped advertising because of problems with the launch of there three weekly service to Manchester from Hong Kong and Moscow! When they, or if they relaunch their service to Manchester, apply.
They were advertising on: http://www.aviationjobsearch.com

It might be a good idea to go on to the above site - they advertise alot of ground jobs for airports accross the UK!
Click 'View Jobs by Category' when you go online.

Hope this helps!

P.S. They have lots of cabin crew jobs advertised as well, so it may be worth browsing that section of the site as well!

MYT--If you are still on maternity leave and a member of a union, contact them--if you are not, join one!!
I have been job share with a national airline for over 12 years, which i had to fight for, after having my 3rd child.
However, there are laws in place now allowing parents the right (all be it limited) to part time work after having a baby--remember the BA pilot Jessica ?
If you are not in a union contact your local CA, but be prepared for a fight with your employer!!!
Best of luck.

Thanks, everyone for your help, i appreciate it. chipmunkj left myt before I had the baby, I am on mat leave but not with an airline, I therefore need to find a pt job if you understand.

Thanks again.

easyjet have crew on 50% and 75%. never much of a problem getting it. Not sure if you can join part time or have to join full time then apply part time. Phone them up and see. They are always helpful there

ok, Thanks.
They never seem to be recruiting at Lpl though.

Hello Myt,
unfortunately I don't have information :(
I just sent a message to Daisydolly to ask a question about VS p/t crew, but apparently you have to do 6 months full time service before they offer p/t and it is only for crew with children.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Good Luck with finding p/t cabin crew jobs in Manchester - If I get any info I will certainly pass it on to you. ;)

P.S. Daisydolly, if you're readin this, I've sent you another message. Many thanks.
