BA EuroFleet to WorldWide-How long?

Hey guys and gals,

Can anyone tell me how long the wait generally is for BA cabin crew to be offered the transfer from Euro Fleet to World Wide?

Is it based on performance/appraisal or length of service?

Is there a waiting list?

I have heard many different things about the system and would like to hear from those in the know!!

Hope you can help!

I'm not cabin crew, but I've flown with some new LGW Worldwide crew who were only LHR eurofleet for 6 months before transferring.

Worldwide LHR is a different story I guess....

Hi KTP

Transferring to WW LHR is based on length of service. I joined Eurofleet LHR in Jan 2004 and the list to transfer is down to Dec 2003 so most people on EF LHR have waited around 18months to transfer. However it is impossible to estimate how long it will take to transfer as things change all the time. A new Opportunities and Choice list has just opened and it allows people to put their name down to transfer to another fleet and also change contract type (ie. go part-time).

Hope this helps!
Take Care

Question for BA WW Cabin Crew:

Is there a maximum no. of trips you can be rostered per month?

Do you also do short/medium flights with long range equipment?

At Iberia, cabin crew can only do 4 long haul flights per month.
As Iberia uses A340/B747 on short/medium flights (MAD-BCN-MAD, and MAD-CANARIES-MADRID), ww cabin crew are also rostered to do those trips.

A typical monthly roster for an Iberia f/a would be:

4 loung hal trips + 1 short/medium haul there and back flight.

How is a typical BA ww f/a roster?

I joined BA LHR eurofleet in December 2003, and I have my LHR world wide course in October 2005, so at the moment it's not taking that long, but as somebody else said, things are changing all the time, so it just depends. I'm just lucky I joined at the perfect time!

I was a direct entry into LGW Worldwide but the list to transfer to LHR WW is the same as the LHR EF one. I joined in Dec 03 and I have my first LHR WW trip rostered for next month! Thats pretty good going for BA. It must be remembered that most people in the past have had to wait for years (5 + or so) so BA is all about timing!
My personal opinion is that as BA are in the process of a huge recruitment at the moment which has been ongoing for about 2 years now the bottom is bound to fall out shortly and the wait to transfer to WW may soon increase again as number begin to even out!!!!
