Virgin Porn

Do any Virgin Crew have any comments on the "Suite Dreams" porno being played in Hotel rooms across the US?

For those who havn't seen it it's about a flight on a virgin flight with cabin crew as prostitutes etc etc.

Produced by Virgin Atlantic and aimed at the businessman.

MonarchA330 7th Dec 2004 16:50

Come again?! The airline itself has made an adult film to promote itself?!

sharksbite 7th Dec 2004 17:00

Its a "piss take" and part of Virgins long term integrated marketing strategy. And an excellent addition I might add. End of story.

Bluebaron 7th Dec 2004 19:10

I wouldn't say end of story i've heard that cabin crew are very annoyed at being portrayed in this way?

Gareth Blackstock 7th Dec 2004 20:05

Where can you get a copy!!!!!

Rachie 7th Dec 2004 21:03

did anyone read that story in one of the tabloids last weekend?

"Britannia Bareways"

hmm yes the shenanagins they get up to on a STOPOVER to CORFU

OZcabincrew 8th Dec 2004 05:13

I guess just one of the cons for working for Virgin and having Richard Branson as your boss!!!! lol-isn't this the whole look Branson is wanting of his crew anyway? If i was Virgin crew, i would be extremely annoyed!!!! Maybe a good marketing strategy, but i don't think a good idea to depict your employees as porn stars!!!!!! a year or two ago, Virgin's low cost Australian airline, "Virgin Blue" was voted to have the best looking cabin crew out of ANY airline worldwide.........that there proves what he's looking for!

Suite dreams!!!!

It's totally crappy and corny. Im suprised no one has seen snippets in their emails of it. It makes flying more dissappointing after watching it haha

flapsforty 8th Dec 2004 07:34

Can anyone verify/support with a link or 3, that this story is actually true?

SO Virgin Blue have the best looking cc in the world? Can't see what's wrong with that. It's what the customers want to see, end of story.

hoofhearted 8th Dec 2004 12:09

Bluebaron, you seem to have some sort of private agenda. Care to share it with us?:suspect:

flapsforty 8th Dec 2004 13:56

Thanks for those links Bluebaron.
Always good to know a bit more before making up ones mind.

ATIS 8th Dec 2004 17:21

You guys must have heard the joke thats been doing the rounds for years and years.

B4 shooting me down in flames, I didn't make it up and it was one of my cabin crew members who told me.

What separates two raging alcoholics from a bunch of prostitutes........................................

...............the cockpit door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

flapsforty 8th Dec 2004 20:11

Another oldie:

Why do FAs have one more brain cell than a cow?

So they don't sh!t in the aisle.

OZcabincrew 9th Dec 2004 05:44

Nothing wrong with good looking cabin crew at all, thats part of the stereotype isn't it? This is obviously just ONE of Branson's marketing strategies to get people to fly Virgin Blue. As a passenger i would tend to focus on the level of customer service and the product rather than the looks of the person delivering it? Just my thoughts anyway.

I disagree in the strongest terms - looks shouldn't be a factor. Yes, it's nice to have pretty crew. But I'd rather have a crew who can do their jobs properly.

I seem to remember a specific airline who's cabin crew were all beautiful. When they had a SERIOUS accident, the cabin crew couldn't get the pax out - they just froze - and people died.

Not pleasant. Ability should be the criteria, not looks.

surely not 9th Dec 2004 13:37

I seem to remember a lot of fuss many years ago when BCal had its 'I wish they all could be Caledonian girls' ads on TV. Some of the cabin crew called it sexist, demeaning, blah, blah, blah.

If you speak to anyone re BCal these days and they will probably talk of the excellent customer service, then launch into the tag line from the ad.

Strange to think that a spoof comedy full of innuendo and sexism like 'take the high life' (or whatever it was called') is popular among cabin crew, but an airline sponsored advertising spoof gets people all twisted in angst.

It is a spoof................ nobody thinks it is for real............. now go and get a sense of humour girls and boys

Suite & Innocent

BB - I was most disappointed to see its called Suite & innocent; particularly as Virgin Atlantic post is franked "Suite Dreams" these days

christep 10th Dec 2004 06:42

panda-k-bear,

I think to be accurate they burnt rather than froze, but you point is valid. The problem is that as a pax (100,000 miles a year or so, mostly in F) I'm not going to choose my airline on how survivable I think they will be if they crash - the chance of that happening (i.e. a crash that has any chance of being survivable) is so small as to be insignificant. I'll choose on the basis of the likelihood of a crash in the first place (excluding KE, CI GA, AI, PIA on that basis) and then on the quality of the service, which, politically incorrect though it is to say it, includes how attractive the cabin crew are. I'll take a beautiful Cathay girl calling me "Mr Christep" over an American Granny calling me "sweetheart" (in the tone she uses for her grandchildren) any day.
