Hey everyone

Have got an interview with bmi on tues 26th oct... was just wondering if anyone else had an interview on the same day
would be good to hear from u!

Good luck EZY! I had mine on the 25th Sept and am due to start training next month!

Its a bit scary, u will have to make an animal out of paper and paperclips probably, one that can stand and its 30cm tall!

The training centre is very impressive 2!

Is any1 else starting their training with bmi on 12th Nov?

Any other info on bmi from current employees (or whoever) would also be appreciated. it'd be good to hear some info on job/pay/what the working day is really like etc.

If you do a search on bmi you will get lots of info.

I used to work for bmi for about 4 years and left due to various reasons. Some being, hours of work, which are now averaging probably 50-65 per week, no night stops and therefore a drop in salary and just no respect from the company. There are other reasons but these are just a few to mention.

I will say that bmi is not a company to make a career with, but just a stepping stone as many will tell you. An average early is usually from about 6am until 3pm. However, it can be longer due to delays etc. Normally 3 to 5 sectors pers day with an odd 2 sector perhaps once a month. I will say that I enjoyed my time there mainly because of the crew. They are fantastic as you will find out. Money wise- As a new starter you will rpobably earn between £1000-1100 pm and it increases over the years. My normal take home was between £1200-1400.

I actually agree with everything pollypocket says. The days are still very long and very tiring. It's very normal to get up at 4am and then not get home until about 4pm and then you start the next day again at 4am. Nearly every day now is 4 sectors with the longer flights only 2 i.e Madrid and Milan. Nightstops are ok I usualy get a few a month which suits me fine, altough I mostly stop in Aberdeen and very rarely anywhere else. I also have to agree with pollypocket aboput the crew. You have sucha laugh with the crew and excluding a few everyone will do anything to help you out when you start and will make you feel really welcome. Of course every airline had it's bad points and i'm sure you'll enjoy it at bmi, I certainly do!

Oh my gosh... not much better on long-haul then kids!

Stanlyestan- is the £850 with your flight pay? I was also getting alot of overtime with about £250-400 flight pay. In addition, I sold a few days off every month, so that £140 really helped. My best take home was £1600. I got £1200 basic (with the help of overtime and days sold), then a further £400 flight pay. However, it was normal to get about £1200-1400.

How long ago was that polly pocket? was that with seniority/language or anything on top?

Lisat- That was after one year. There is not much seniority at bmi due to the high turnover so you pretty much get what you want, except at xmas and new year. However, they have a fantastic policy where you work one and have the other off. Going back to money- with no overtime, days sold a normal takehome after a years service is about £1200. Apparently, they are getting themselves together with crew etc so no more days to sell. However, you will always get overtime due to the amount of hours you work!!!! Are you thinking of going to bmi?

No more days to sell? Good god I ring up and they fall over backwards to get me to sell days off!!
Sorry about the earlier post I was being a right idiot! £850 a month doesn't include my flight pay, but since i've been at bmi my flight pay has been compltely different everytime, so i'm not sure what the average is!

HI everyone,

I'm starting my training course with bmibaby on 11th November and would like to chat to any others who will be starting the course.

I am really looking forward to it and cant wait!!!

I think it's going to be fun hopefully they seem like a really nice airline, and i have worked for a few now.... :)
