EasyJet
applied to easyjet yesterday at about 4pm and today received a reply from them at 11:30!!! wow do these work fast.
At present we do not have any more assessment centres scheduled in the UK We are now re-focusing recruiting cabin crew into our European bases and have numerous vacancies at Paris Orly, Berlin Schonefeld and Dortmund. |
Just left easyJet, and there is NO requirement to speak any other language apart from English, regardless of base.
So if you'd like to base yourself in Europe, why not give it a go? You'd be on a UK contract, working on brand-new Airbus 319s with some of the friendliest crew around. It's a good company to work for; work hard, get paid well (£1300-1400 for a junior). |
AJ, here is the letter I recieced in full:
Dear Anthony Thank you for your completed application form. I am pleased to advise you that you have been short listed for interview. At present we do not have any more assessment centres scheduled in the UK, however we will keep your application on hold until there are more vacancies in your chosen base. At this time, we will send you an invitation to an assessment centre. We are now re-focusing recruiting cabin crew into our European bases and have numerous vacancies at Paris Orly, Berlin Schonefeld and Dortmund. If you are fluent in French or German, you are more than welcome to apply for these positions. Please email us at [email protected] if you wish to change your base preference to one of these bases. Thank you for your interest shown in becoming easyJet cabin crew. Kind Regards, Cabin Crew Recruitment |
Of course they do ! Why wouldn't they ? They're carrying French people and German people within France and Germany. Why would speaking English only be enough ? Get to grips with foreign languages and open your mind. You'll see, you'll love it.
|
I asked easyjet about workimg in Paris with basic french skills and here is their reply:
If you wish to be based in Orly you will need to be able to speak fluent French, you will be tested (unless they wouldlet me get away with asking every pax "parlez vous anglais?") |
EasyJet do let existing crew who only speak English to transfer to their European bases (except for Geneva which is run as a seperate entity) but it'd seem that new entrants have to be fluent in the language of the country in which they wish to be based.
However I'd imagine they'll be recruiting shortly again for LGW (if not other bases as well) because there's several new routes being launched in the next few months and the turnover of staff there is as high as ever, so perhaps get them to get in touch with you when they do begin recruiting again or failing that just keep your ear to the ground! |
My apologies, obviously there is a different set of rules for existing staff, as I was asked numerous times whether I'd like a 6 month transfer ORY, DTM or SXF.
For the record, I am fluent in 2 other languages, but not German or French. |
I got an email today from an aviation recruitment company (I don't know if I'm allowed to name them on here?) which was looking for EZY crew at LGW so it'd seem they're starting to recruit again already.
|
ib16uk, LGW has been a base of EZY since November 2001. By the end of this November, I believe that more destinations will be served than at LTN. They have 9-10 a/c now, all but one or two being the A319.
I was with EZY for 3 years, I will never regret working there, but now I am on long haul, I don't think I could go back. In fact, if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be where I am today. The people there (well, flight and cabin crew anyway!) are fab, friendly bunch. Some days will be hard and others easy, but it tends to be good fun. Oh, ib16uk, in answer to your question on another thread, the 737-300's being phased out. I've heard that the infamous YB, YC and YF have all gone!!!! Ask the longer serving crew about hose 3!!!! Good luck in your applications guys!!!!:ok: |
Unfortunately off stand, YB, YC,YD, & YF are still gracing us with their presence...:{ :{
I've been waiting almost 7 years to get rid of them from the fleet, but they keep on holding on!!!!! |
Are they??? You poor things! My very first flight on line as an SCCM was on YD and we had a medical emerency!!!! Is YF still always tech and have carpet on the bulk heads????:ugh:
|
I was on YF last week out of EDI. Carpet on the walls! We should add a gliter ball to it as well ;) .
I think im going to be the only one to miss YD and YB, the smell, the galley, the straps to the crew seat forever in the toilet and watching all the pax bump their head on the way out from the rear! Oh those were the days!! EB;) |
Won't you miss YT??? With the crew seats as hard as rock????, and when you sit doen, your knees are in your mouth!!! lol Those were the days
|
What about YB, or should I say YBonfire!!! How many times were there fire incidents? Cockpit fire into EDI, APU fire in BFS and the famous divert into NCL for the bin fire that was actually for dry ice!!!!! Classsic!!!!!!
|
Off Stand,
My line check as SCCM was on YE!!! Where we had to push two single carts together and pretend it was a double as there was only single stowage at the back! We also had a perspex bulkhead between them and us! Now, THOSE were the days!!! BTW, They still haven't fixed the gust lock on YF fwd door!! Have had the pleasure of flying on the ex-go fleet alot recently... some of them certainly give our old babes a run for their money..!:D  ;) |
do you still need another crew member to push the top tight hand corner of the fwd door to close it???? ( YF) hee hee. US airways have 2 YF style aircraft and they are not much better. lol
P.S wasn't YE the one which crashed in argentina a few weeks after we sold it??? |
I couldn't believe it when i could still see daylight after i closed that door!
Just out of interest does anyone know of a stn cc who injured her head on YF about two weeks ago, just like to know if she's alright, as when i left her she had a big patch on her head and was seeing double double. I didn't catch her name but i know she was spanish! She hit it off an open canister door the poor love while on a a/c swap. Happy (and safe) flying EB ;) |
Jettesen, YE is alive and kicking as N317WN with Southwest in the 'states, where it's floor will be strewn with pretzels not pringles, no doubt! :D
|
YE was def before my time!!!! JB had just been delivered when I started.
The forward door on YF was a joke. I was once called out to fly out of STN down the back on OX! Just before we pushed back in each sector, the Capt ran outside with a roll of speed tape, taping the fwd hold door handle closed as it had a habit of popping open! Apparently, when that a/c joined go, the lease was pay as you flight as it wasn't a great a/c to start off with, the ezy got their hands on it!!!! Hasn't stopped flying since!!! Happy days!!! |
Another two Yankee's have gone, YAY!
Shame we are not retiring any of the Essex fleet. If I have to fly on another Oscar I will cry. Plus, when are we going to get some Airbus action in Luton???? I know they are made of plastic, but at least they work!! |
