BMI Recruting Long Haul Only....

Heard at work that BMI are recruiting Long Haul only from Manchester. BMI crew are allowed to apply for this but then that will leave postions on the short haul. Its good news for all us MYT redundant crew !!!!!

The only downside is that from what i can remember, BMI pay one of the lowest basics out of any airline.

I Believe that all courses are now full, and the only interviews they are now having are for a holding pool.

Lowest salary

Lowest basic? Is it even lower than £8750 that Juniors at Air Atlanta get paid?

From what i gather from my girlfriend who works for bmi at man(on the a330, 320, 321) she is classed as a lp1 who is longhaul only but does get the odd lhr flight the starting salary is about 9500 then goes up after 6 months then after a year. She comes out with about 1400 (last month) cause she does back to back longhaul. So i would say that is really good for cabin crew.

BMI L/H

Interviews were in the last 2 weeks at MAN - telephone 'screening'; if ok, then invited to assesment day

Didnt' t ask about previous flying experience - 3 group exercises (including making an animal a la Blue Peter out of string/paper/paper clips)............

If succesful - names called out and invited back for 1-2-1 in the afternoon

Seemes appearance made no part the decision - one guy in a very smart suit and Trainers' got through; as did some ladies without a scrap of make-up...

were told at the beginning it was mix of l/h and s/h but mostly l/h
4 week course at LHR - seem freindly enough

I assume the recruitment is in order to expand the long haul network from Manchester. A good friend of mine who works for BMI @ Manchester tells me Bombay, Bangkok and Beijing are in the pipeline.

I do know that a team from BMI visited Airbus in Toulouse recently to 'discuss' new long haul aircraft...

rang bmi a few weeks ago to be told all assessement days were full but they would get in touch if anymore days became available. 2 days later got a letter asking me to send my cv in, after sending my cv in then got an application form to fill in, would this be for the holding pool or are they still recruiting for manchester?

cheers for any info
:ok:

probably worth a phone call but i would be 99% certain that they got everyone they are going to need.
