Thanks for the info. I live in Chc and it's really hard to find anything out about Jetconnect down here. Luckily I have a couple of friends who keep me informed, but it's nice to see that someone else is being helpful.

It is appreciated.

Cheers. Cabinboy_nz:O

Does anyone know how long the contract for QF AKL would be?

What is the pay like?

Would we be employed by Adecco or QF?

How are contract staff generally treated by permanent QF crew?

Thanks!

Mikey

How did you go at the interview in Wellington????????

Flying_Sarah747 23rd Mar 2004 13:59

I find this so unfair when they've still got all us AUSTRALIANS on the shortlist since over a year ago!!!!!!! It's ok for me cause i've got a cabin crew job with another airline now, but what about those who are still waiting??!! :(

Left2primary 23rd Mar 2004 23:46

QF also make savings given that they also operate without the award protection/conditions applicable to Australian based FA's-

Lower pay rates, no overtime, no long range allowance, less holidays, poor staff travel, no bid system for trips, no promotion opportunities, inhumane slipping formulas etc etc.

It all makes me more than a little ashamed given the profitability of QF and the fact that some of these people are among our best FA's.

...From the D&G forum

"Apparently the 5 new 738's ordered last week are to be crewed by JetConnect (after their NG conversion in the BNE sim, of which QF has taken 40% of available time) on this "new" ADL-AKL service- the thin edge of the wedge just got thicker." - as quoted by 'invertedlandings'

Hense why this is called a "rumour" forum...

overhere 15th Apr 2004 06:06

Totally agree that nothing is out of the question however there has been no indication that Jetconnect will receive any aircraft type, other then 733's which continue to be delivered.

There are a lot of rumours posted on these forums, for many different reasons. Some are true, some aren't and some become true in time. People post these rumours for many different reasons and sometimes merely to get a reaction.

Personally I don't think it is fair, especially on a recruitment thread for unproven rumours to be posted. People could make career choices from these threads, it is not fair that they be mislead.

So what is going on is that Jetconnect continues to operate nz domestic and transtasmsn servicex ex wlg/chc on B733's. Nothing else at the moment is anymore then a rumour.

Bodum 15th Apr 2004 07:20

Overhere...well said....

The 738 will be seen operating the tasman very soon. Our pattern books in shorthaul included 2 and 3 day trips with AKL overnights as the 738 will operate ex SYD and MEL to AKL commencing 26 April and will be operated by Qantas Shorthaul Crew.

The 5 738's on order are to replace our 733 aircraft that are being retired ;)
