British Midland crew

Hi Guys

Just wanted to know how the pay structure is at British Midland, what I would be earning as a junior.

Morale, conditions.

I've heard the crew are a great bunch and have a good laugh.

Any good interview tips.

Cheers and happy flying.

left bmi about 2 yrs ago, having been a LHR and later EDI based Flight Supervisor.

BMI have got a good atmosphere, that is cabin crew and flight deck.

Pay is not the best in the industry, espacially after stopping the good night stops, CGN, MUC, BCN.
As a junior you'll take home around £800. ex flight pay.

LHR has the best opportunities for promotion and the best routes.

Interview's probably the most relaxed in the industry.

Would strongly advise you to do it.

Hi there, just a quickie to let you know that its a really good laugh and you'll have a ball with the crew. The money is alot more than what it used to be. Average out to £1050-300 inc flight pay as a new starter depending on the n/s you receive. Pay rise after 6 months, another after a further 6 months then another after a further year.

Promotional aspects are fantastic compared to other airlines. Go for it and try it out. You'll enjoy it. We have long and short days the same as everybody really.

Good luck

Can anyone tell me what the call out time is with bmi? 45 mins, 1 hr etc. would be really helpful

1 hour. However, as long as you make the flight they are very flexible.

i have just moved to a new house in brighton ( bought) and wondered if I could live in Brighton and work for BMI ?? Not too sure about standbys though. Anyone have any idea if this would be possible. Can't really move again

I'm not crew, however, I was helping out in Crew Dispatch, last week, and one of our flight deck, who lives in Brighton, was whingeing on about long it takes him to get to/from LHR and that it's even worse when he's called out from sby...
All depends on the time of day, I guess....

bmi crew!

Hey guys!

I worked for bmi (or british midland as it was then called!) for approx 2 years and was a flight supervisor and I had a really good time! You do work hard but the crews make it fun! Alot of the good night-stops have stopped but any night stop can be fun!

When I was there the was a crew member who worked for bmi at LHR and lived in Brighton and they found the commute ok - it depends if you like driving/commuting alot!

Also bmi are getting their Airbus A319's soon, so I guess you will just be trained on an all airbus fleet (A319/320/321) and the airbus are great aircraft to work on!

Enjoy bmi!
