Astraeus

I have an interview for cabin crew at ASTRAEUS on Monday and was just wondering what they are like to work for, if anyone knows? I think it looks like a great little company. Interesting flying, friendly and nice aircraft.

Can anyone fill me in on the subject or give me any tips for the interview?

Regards

Hi there, only my opinion but - If youve not flown before, go for it. If you have steer clear, totally unprofessional.:( I should know!

Trol E Doll 10th Dec 2003 02:36

Strangely enough, Pinni, from what I know of AEU they are a fairly professional organisation.

Sure they have had their share of teething problems.....but most of the people I've met from there have been very positive in their views, albeit with some grumbles about sorting out some of the summer issues.

:ok: :O

Before we start a slagging match, may I remind you that we are not discussing other member's professionnality, the topic being Astraeus .
And pinni, you are entitled to your opinion, but if you state

totally unprofessional
please at least explain the reasons.

Flyblue,

Fair comment , provided someone gets to defend this airline from the gripes of a disgruntled ex-employee, who didn't so much "leave" as being "pushed".

Level playing field...right?

All I can say is a lot of the cabin crew were not happy over the summer. Most put on a brave face.

Astraeus Cabin Crew work extremley hard and with a very professional attitude.
They have successfully filtered out all the garbage leaving a great team of people.

Hey folks!

Firstly, thank-you for all the replies, a mixture of opinons obviously!

I had the interview on Monday and was told today that I had the job! So am over the moon!

The impression I got from the interview was that the people behind AEU are great! It was easily the most relaxed and warm interview I have ever been to.

The thing that really attracts me to AEU though is the interesting flying programme! Taba, Malabo, Borlagne and La Gomera, not exactly your 'old favorites' as with bigger companies.

Well, I can say that I can't wait until my initials, I'm sure AEU will be a great experience!

Regards

Hi Mike!

I was there on Monday and got the job with AEU too!
The selection process was relaxed but at the same time professional.
I think we'll have a good time on our course! You're on the February one, right?

flyblue 10th Dec 2003 21:23

Trol E Doll,

I agree 100%. That's why pinni won't be allowed labelling an airline as "totally unprofessional" without an explanation. And, if I were pinni, I would avoid "doing my laundry" in public if the circumstances of my departure weren't more than to my advantage.

I joined Astraeus on the first training course during the start up and from the day I attended the interview I found them to be nothing other than proffessional and well organised. The people are great to work with and you get treated well and most importantly fairly. I only left because I was offered a great opportunity I could not turn down, otherwise I would still be there and still enjoying it like some of my friends who started from day one. Good luck to those starting with Astraeus in the new year, the training you will receive will be second to none and I hope you enjoy your time with this company as much as i did. Well done.

Is Gaynor Yardley and Mark Deakin still at AEU ?

Very interested by your comments about AEU to La Gomera - didn't know the 'field there would take a 737.. would save me a journey on the Fred Olsen 'cat from Los Cristianos... anyone able to confirm that and let me know who I'd book through?

Cheers
