Reccurent Training

How often does your airline have reccurent training, first aid training and fire ground training? And how often do you need to fly to keep your licence valid?

ladies and gentlemen 26th Nov 2003 05:45

Reccurent training is usually conducted every twelve calender months, but can stretch to the firteenth month. Anual recurrent includes S.E.P, first aid, and also conflict management, CRM, Dangerous goods (usually very short courses for the latter, 3hrs on each approx dependant upon carrier). Fire and smoke training practical is required every 3 years and ditching drill practical once in a lifetime, however if you move from airline to airline they prefer that you do these again within their initial course syllabus. hope this helps a little..

Same as ladies&gentleman except that we alternate fire and ditching every year.
Our licence doesn't expire but we need to fly an aircraft type at least once in 8 months to be current (and have a recurrent on the type every 12 months with a stretch to 15)
