Phil Wyatt fires staff less than a week before Xmas

Like a bad penny, Mr Wyatt has done it again, Tor Air, a swedish airline that Mr. Wyatt has bought into sacked all the swedish staff a week ago, followed by all the British crew today. Merry Christmas

All the crew? Just for winter? Had the airline folded?

Thank you kind sir.
The truth is we have been lied to from the start, on the training course that was the big question, "has Phil Wyatt got anything to do with Tor Air." Nothing was the reply.

It turns out he bought this Swedish company through his company Black Pearl based in Cyprus.

His brother Jim Wyatt owns and operates Meridian out of the Beehive Gatwick.
Bums on seats outfit.

If anyone is offered a job with anything to do with Meridian, Sky Middle East, (another one of the Wyatt brothers companies) you will be lied too.

Fortunately Ive never had the 'pleasure' to be involved with Mr Wyatt or his activities but come on....its common knowledge that he was behind Tor Air. What strikes me as bizarre is that crew continued to follow him round from his previous incarnations - when will people learn a lesson?

That said, Im truly truly sorry for your mistreatment. This individual is not worthy of having the opportunity of holding peoples destiny in his hands. This should send out a clear warning - STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS!!!

Steer Clear

Correct Mr & Mr Wyatt continue to plague aviation going back to the Goldcrest days in the early 90's with Ambassadair/Air Ops/Sabre etc... they build up and bankrupt each one as they go along. Strange thing is the Icelandic's and the Swedes never seem to check into the ownership of these airlines that continually die and give their own Aviation Industry a bad name - STEER CLEAR - is the best message I could say too

I would beg to differ with come of the conclusions above and would say that Phill Wyatt may sail very close to the wind but the real problems are with the Icelandic partys involved.

So far I can think of a number of airlines that have been asset stripped by Iclandics and then they fold the airline leaving debts all over the place.

This small group of Icelandic crooks must be paying off people in the Icelandc Govenment because I am sure that in any other European state they would be in jail.

As I understand it the thing that did for TorAir is that they could not pay for the Hot End inspection on an aircraft that they returned to the lease company, I am also told that TorAir owed very little money........ I suspect because with a history like PW has got the only the Icelandics would lend him anything.

While I am not trying to do a PR job for Phill Wyatt I would say that it is easy to cast the front man as being totaly responsable, the big picture would likely say otherwise.

Yes XL & Viking but it is the grey Icelandics in the shaddows that should be sholdering some of the blame.
