Nicest CC uniform?

Hi all. I was wondering, amongst cabin crew, what airline's uniform is considered the nicest? Nice in terms of comfort to wear, stylishness, quality, 'sexiness'?

Conversely, which one do CC loathe? I'm sure there are enough out there that are detested! I know some airlines regulate things to a bizarre degree, even down to what shade of nail polish and what colour underwear (?) CC are permitted. As flight crew, we have it easy, just trousers, shirt, jacket, some airlines have a hat...thats it! It seems with CC there are so many more variables in uniform!

If you're not sure and you just need a refresher to remind you take a look at the link here.

knoppen

The guy who put this website together put a serious amount of effort into it.

PS from a punters perspective only I can honestly say the ones that have stood out for me are Singapore, Virgin Atlantic, TAM and Air France. In no particular order either. I believe Singapore Airlines uniform is nearly 30 years old and has never been changed.

Call me old fashioned. I've never liked trousers for women. It is neither stylish nor sexy and certainly not feminine.

Singapore Airlines old fashioned style I think is beautiful

Nothing will ever come close to the sexy elegance of the British Caledonian kilts and blouses.

The BA one looks great, as long as its not a 10 tonne tessie inside it, which, unfortunately is usually the case!

Neptunas Rex;

AAAh! the Caledonian girls. That uniform could make Anne Widdecombe look good.

Anyone remember the Court line girls with the white kinky boots. Had a hell of an effect on me as a youngster!

Air Italy one of the finest I've seen in a while. Almost thunderbirds like. Probably only comes in a size 10 and under

Maybe so. Imagine however walking around Riyadh in 48C wearing a woolly blanket wrapped around you and you get a feeling of how convenient it was to wear. Add in the white gloves and the woolly hat and it was a miracle the crew didn't faint!

I use to like the BMI Diamond pattern , espeacially when the girls use to flash the tackle from the rear of a 737 at LHR , whilst on turnaround during the summers in the late 80's .........

...and having to wear the white BCAL gloves whilst doing after work shopping too! I was hauled in before the uniform standards person one day,as I had been seen in Tescos minus my gloves..I had to explain I was buying loose new potatoes, covered in dirt so I took said gloves off. Not good enough, must leave them on next time !

BCAL had many different colours on their uniforms. Did they change the look frequently or was it colours different depending on rank and season of the year?

No, you just had to choose from a range of five the two Princess Mary tartans which suited you best (unless it was a high profile flight then it was dictated which colour was worn). The long kilt in First Class was all one tartan.
Ignoring Beaver remarks from cheeky poster!

The chap who assembled the CC uniform website failed to mention the most important detail of Caledonian uniform which, I must admit, I have only seen on windy days and flight deck demonstration

But Otter girl it was the nicest looking uniform..... was always amazed at how good you all looked in the tartan, made our flight deck togs look very plain. There were always admiring glances when the crew assembled in the hotel lobby.... And the bus juice was just great.

To look at, Singapore Airlines kebaya is to me the best. I'm not sure I have the figure to wear it though (being a 100kg bloke) so I cannot comment on what it's like to wear and work in. I really don't like these LCC uniforms although I daresay they are more practical.

For reasons that I can't explain, I'm rather fond of this video - Things have changed, just a little, since then. I'm still a fan of the 50's/60's uniforms in general, and Pan-Am in particular - guess it's an age thing!
