It doesn't matter what Bassa/ Amicus/Unite want, most members now HATE BA so much, they would strike about anything it seems
The bit I don't get still is that crew are BA. Self hate is not good

I have just followed the advice of "Juan Tripp" and had a look at the Unite/BA page that he refers to.
It is nothing short of disgusting for Unite/Bassa/Amicus to behave in this manner, or condone such behaviour.
Just about sums it up for me; what a bunch of childish timewasters they have become. Follow that lot, and all that ? Never.

Betty Girl,

Female pilots have to work whilst pregnant (ground duties) or BA don't pay them regardless of where they live, although i am not aware of anyone being forced to commute from Europe. However duty of care arguments usually prevail if the commute from home to work would be excessive.

Any news regarding Bassa accounts?

Regards SD

Extremely unprofessional - imagine if BA would do the same (not that they would!) with the eyes of either LM or DH - they would be screaming bullying, harassment and intimidation!

Strimmer Driver,
That's exactly the same policy as for cabin crew then.

The policy is the same and remains the same, it is just that someone recently sent out an email which caused some managers to interpret it in a too rigid a manner without using the duty of care that you mention.

Still cant find the photo on the cover page. Probably just as well though, who needs to see what drivel they're coming up with now. Much prefer the balanced, reasoned posts and debate that you find here! Sorry, got sidetracked..... back to the real world of informed sensible people

Some might argue that "BA remains strong in the face of a broken regime".

Not easy to negotiate with a company which already has a set agenda.

BA are back to profit. BA have their the new fleet which is taking over destinations from EF and WW almost every month. BA are operating their LHR base to LGW crewing levels. What else do they want? Don't say that we haven't offered anything and adjusted over the years. We have lost several crew members including two purser positions on WW aircraft as well basic salary and overtime pay reduced. We are also working five years longer before retirement. Apparentely asking for a legally binding contract that protects our earnings and futures is too much to ask for.

By the way, thank you BA for the bonus.

We are all working 5 years longer before retirement.

And who in BA has a contract protecting earnings and futures?
WHO?

I certainly don't . Why do you think you should?

Miss M, you can leave anytime you wish!

There is nothing in your contract that says you have to stay on, the choice is yours!

Welcome to the real world. Nobody has legally binding contracts that protect them into the future! When the oil price hits the ceiling and the company has to cut overheads you want to have a legally binding contract that the company can default on on its way to bankruptcy and then wonder why they won't agree. Sorry but please, please, please understand the idiocy of demanding 'future proof, legally binding contracts' because it will never, ever happen in a private company. Sadly those in the public sector are now starting to see that even the deep pockets of the Tax man can't afford to continue to shower them with money into their dottage either!

No one has them. No-One, not Willie Walsh, not Kieth Williams, they are on rolling contracts with their productivity bonuses attached. They have to work damn hard to achieve them. You want their money, their bonuses and their terms? Go do their job.

As to an agenda, yep the company had one, reduce costs. As to difficulty negotiating, as your representitives. The 'you tube' link is still kicking around to the childish video I seem to remember.

BASSA need to accept that this one never had the moral high ground, never had the backing of anyone else except the gravy train riding senior CSD reps and never had the legs to make a successful outcome.

Time to put it to bed and look to the future and try and salvage something from the mess BASSA and their SWP stalwarts have left behind. If you can't then I'm sure the recovery will find you something to do.
