British Airways Glasgow based crew.

Video made by BA Glasgow based crew, the Base was closed down this week and now many of these crew will either be out of a Job or will have to Relocate to London to continue to work for British Airways. Good luck to them for the future, Once again BA has made a terrible mistake.

BA Glasgow

What a lovely Video but at the same time a very sad one I jolly well hope Willy takes a look at this and all the experienced staff BA stand to lose if they are unable to be based at LHR.

What Willy will fail to spot is that this short film is probably the best bit of genuine promotional material to ever come out of BA, far better than anything the "professionals" could ever dream up.

Genuine smiles, serious teamwork and CRM city. Even Nigel plays his part with his cap placed in perfect position under his arm as he carefully guides his crew down the escalator. Airlines pay hundreds of thousands to get material which attempts to put across a caring, friendly, happy, cuddly human feeling and yet the staff who have been under threat for years have done it for them for nothing.

Same old BA.

Close all base's,too expensive.....then open a new base under the name of 'OpenLies'..sorry OpenSkies.

The cost to BA for the start uo £100 million and it's on the verge of folding!!.

£200,000 a year to keep the base open, which BASSA offered to cover the cost by savings....REJECTED by BA.

Good luck to all at Glasgow whatever you decide to do.If you end up at Heathrow,we'll give you a big welcome.

Wonderful Video!

So very sad, but a wonderful video, well done to all who produced it, a real tear-jerker for both Mrs Oldflyboy and me.

Having gone through all the angst at Birmingham 2 years ago in March we can both feel the pain, and wish all you Lovely Scottish Crew the very best of luck. Our twice yearly BHX base reunions keep the spirit alive, but life at London can never have the fun and joy that small base life has. It's flying Jim, but not as we know it!

God Bless All!

I echo the same sentiments as everyone here. Fantastic video and, even as an ex GB Airways crew, I know how it feels to hang up my BA wings.

What a great tribute for great CC! I always admired BA peeps, and i have one of the greatest friends one could have, who works for BA.
I am very sad Glasgow folks lost their base and (maybe) work. I hope you'll find comfort in another base or job.
God bless and keep being the amazing CC you are; you thought CC like me and some others what this job really is like and what it really demands.
Sending you all my love and respect,

ATS

Guys & Gals - what a wonderful video - though the song always makes me laugh sorry! - I am scared to say it in public but you are by far my favourites - wherever I have found myself with GLA crew I have had a wicked time! A credit to the company - I hope that all of you are able to stay but I understand the lifestyle of the GLA base was probably one of the biggest pulls for some of you.

Good luck for the future whatever you decide to do!

Did I spot John Jeffrey and Catherine Gaffney in that video??

Jings! BA Glasgow based crew were the most natural, friendly and genuine folk in the skies! ("The best bums ever to grace a jumpseat", as a friend of mine used to say. And that's a true compliment!!)

Good luck to you all. You made pax-ing a real genuine pleasure for many, many, many years. (Countless evening shuttles out of LHR to GLA - drinks trolley doing the rounds - had to decline on account of having my car parked at GLA and hence having to drive home - moments later, a "sick bag" crammed full of Johnnie or Remy would arrive at my seat - and those of many passengers around - so that we could still have our "nightcap" when we eventually reached home!)

Best regards to John, Catherine and Brenda Coyle, the three whom I remember the most.

What a nice video!! I usually check external links with some dread, but this one was worth the visit.

It's never good to see industry colleagues get damaged, and my sympathies to all at the base.

If it is any consolation, normal airline practice would be to employ a team of expensive specialist consultants who will determine in 2014, after a five year project, that the most cost-effective solution for BA will be to open a new base in...
