Congratulations to Crew - BA038 777 @ LHR

Sounds as if the cabin crew on BA yesterday at Heathrow did a fantastic job...Congrats to all of them! And, of course, the flight deck. What an ad for effective CRM.

A news journalist on a Sydney program suggested that the slides inflated themselves. Which was quite a discredit to the flight attendants involved, I thought. Obviously through lack of understanding..

I was sitting on a bus when I read the news on my mobile. I was so relieved to hear everyone was safe and well. When I saw the photos, I was even more impressed.

Bouquets to all involved - everyone did a great job by all accounts, and I wish everyone involved all the best for the future. I was especially impressed that the tech crew and CSD appeared for a press conference so soon after. The Captain's speech, I felt, was excellent - outlining that everyone played their part in the successful outcome of the emergency.

I think that they should gave the pilots and cabin crew a medal the size of the engines on there B777s for getting the passengers to safety and getting all the passengers out of the aircraft safely congrates to the crew of BA 038

This Nigel would like to add his admiration.

Cabin crew may be permitted to initiate an evacuation without a command from the flight deck but it is a big deal to actually do it, especially in circumstances where many passengers say they were not even aware there had been a crash landing.

In this event there was no fire. Had there been, the cabin crew's actions would have saved a great many lives.

It shows that the efforts of Cabin Crew Training and the SEP instructors are not entirely wasted.

BA0108 too

Can I just add, if you were crew on the inbound day flight from DXB that diverted to STN - you did a superb job. Perfectly judged, regular announcements, and the flightdeck out of hours but elected to continue at discretion . Painful ordeal with another 2 hrs between eventual LHR touchdown and de-planing. And yet a cabin full of happy, smiling thankful passengers - what other airline could do that?

Congratulations to all of the crew, they did a wonderful job and it just goes to show how important CRM is. Well done guys, and keep up the good work.
I do however feel sorry for the crew having to do the press conference so soon after the incident, the CSD was clearly shaken, and I would expect the Flight Crew were too.

Congratulations to the crew onboard the 777.

I think the fact the CSD and flight crew did a press conference after shows just how professional they were. I dont think i could have done a press conference after that. It makes me Proud to be crew!! I may not be BA crew but They have showed to world that we dont just make tea or coffee and I really hope passengers pay attention during the saftey demo but i wont hold my breath lol

But again CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BA 38 ...Many Congratulations!!!...but

Fantastic teamwork, unplanned evacuation and it was carried out in textbook fashion. It seems that it was also superb airmanship so many congratulations all round. The same cannot be said of the idiotic decision to parade the 3 crew (leaving out 13 other integral people involved!)at the press conference so soon after the incident

They were clearly in shock especially the CSD and needed rest and probably time with their families. However ,well done all of the crew!!

The very next day I operated a flight, a plane full of passengers reading newspapers, hardly anyone paying attention, at one point stopping the demo to speak a few choice words to an idiot chatting on his phone!!!

Will never learn. Just shows that despite no pays attention the cabin crew can get them out double quick!

Good Effort boys and girls from BA38!

Well done to all the crew, what a fantastic job you did.
I was very dissapointed to see only 3 crew members in the press conference, it was an excellent team evacuation and all crewmembers involved should have been there, so an extra special well done to the others.

Well Done BA038 cabin crew

Well done for a professional and safe evac from the 777!

What a pity someone in one of the captain's former crews sold trip pics to the News of The Smut to rake up some scandal! i bet there are more than one households in turmoil over those pics especially the female crew member whose pic is pixelated out in one pic and there to be identified in all the others. Bet her husband doesn't approve!

Beware the journos! What goes on on a trip stays downroute!
