Handed in my notice today and everyone keeps bursting into tears...bizarre!

Quite looking forward to leaving Cathay now as things seem to be going through a bit of a turbulent time.

Do you know of anyone else from our group that has got through?

I know - it was such a lovely bunch.

I'm not sure either but I guess we'll find out on the day. Not sure if my "sister" got through. Hope so!

Still, we'll know each other so that's a good start!

Dress code

They always recommend smart office attire - I had a suit on with a shirt and tie but some guys just wore trousers and shirt/tie.

yap yap yap

They do say to you when you start that if you have answered the question or repeat a previous example that they will stop you.

Don't worry about it!!!

Hi there!!, I´m a Rolac friend.....

and both will join BA EuroF LHR at same time, abandoning Iberia after near 4 years. I like the work here but destinations are not very varied as it is in BA, but after 3 years and a half I take some rights and I want to know some things of BA, to take the right decision.

I have some doubts, I get some rights in IB;

permanent contract
free unlimited tickets to every IB destinations
16 free unlimited tickets to every IB destinations for whoever I decide.
12 free unlimited tickets for whoever I decide.
12 for my childs.
6 free tickets if I travel with them for 3 more people from my family.
Discounts in hotels and car rental around the world.

12 free days in short haul. 17,593 GBP at beginning
14 free days in long haul. 23,687 GBP at beginning

30 days for holidays in to parts of 15 that if you organize correctly could be 21 days each part..

Could anyone tell me about rights in BA and how long takes to have it?, whether BA is best or not in that kind of things....

Is true that you can ask for destinations you prefer?.
Do you receive the schedule with 2 months in advance?.
Do you have medical insurance?
Money?.
Rights?.
Tickets?.
I am thinking in live in the continent. Is it possible?.

Thank you very much, I hope you will help me to take the right decision, Rolac is dazzled for the fame of BA, but I like to take decisions with the most and best information in my hand.

Savvy_88

You dont have to do the presentation Savvy, it is done for you by a serving BA member of staff. Dont Panic. Its a slide show really and it will answer all the questions you may have. You just sit and watch it. Oh and JMHO but I would definately wear a jacket if you have one. It looks so much smarter and you can always take it off, but if you dont have it, you may wish you had the option when you see everyone else!

And AMS-LHR ........Fantastic News! Well done you!

Pax on plane

Hi

I am interested to know how many pax are on BA planes. I currently work for a charter with A320, 19, 21, B757 and 767 and would be interested to know the difference in seats on planes i.e on our 320 its 180 pax (a tight squeeze when full load lol). I heard its less in a BA cabin but wasn't sure if true.

Also I'm dreading going through training again. I was wondering if the pre-course pack was good for lessoning the load during training e.g location diagrams, drills and stuff.

Cheers all

Good luck to any people starting training.

Configurations across our short-haul fleet are changing - I believe new, light-weight seats are being installed on our 757s & Airbus a/c (and perhaps the 767 at some point). As these seats are also slimmer, they allow an extra row of 6 abreast in the Euro Traveller section...that's what I believe, don't quote me on it....

As a result, the figures I am about to give you are likely to change...you may need to +6 seats to the figures below...

A319....124

A320.....148

A321....194

757....180

767....252

The figures are approximate....depends on the Club loads on the day.

Regarding pre-course materials, since I joined a few years ago my information may be out of date; the pack I was sent had no location diagrams/SEP at all...it was purely commercial information. Now that I remember, galley diagrams were included but they were of practically no use in preparation as we were not examined on knowledge of galley stowages
