75%

Hello ,
Just applied for 75% , Would like to know what the money is like and days off etc..?
Oh got some gossip , They are changing the way forward once again !!! , Are they that
Bored in the office ..Help !! .The New Duty free Magazine looks nice , It's called Expressions and it has a lovely kaleidoscope design and the British Airways including the lovely speedbird logo on it , And under British Airways it says operated by BMED .The reason for the change from shop highlife was that BMED Crew , Where not getting paid all there Commision , I lost £50 this year alone !! And that's a little night out in London

Thanks

Ps. For non BMED Crew , The Way Forward is our service delivery .

Please tell me this is a joke, they can't change the "The Way Forward"!

I'm a newbie to the company, and they do like to change things!

HEhe...

The only thing that doesn't change at BMED is that they keep changing.

I guess thats what happens when 'The way forward' is actually the way backwards.

Just kidding, or am I? (must've changed my mind)

BMED LHR - 75%? 'tis a hard life Must catch up on all the gos.

Hello ,
And welcome to bmed , I have been in bmed 18 month's and this is the 2nd time there changing it .
To be honest , I think our service is fine ..It's only a A320/A321 ..I used to work on a wide body aircraft for 5 years and they never changed the service . Ok maybe cut backs etc after 9/11 , It's just too many chiefs in the office .Who should be online flying , Well maybe not all of them if you know what I mean .

Thinking of applying to them but afraid to once again be rejected! What exactly are they looking for? I'm well-educated with several years work experience (customer service-related such). Although, I don't speak any of their prefered languages (Farsi, French, Russian etc), only fluency in English and another foreign language and an understandable level in another two languages.

Suggestions?

Very few people at BMED actually speak any of those languages - For BMED it's more of a nice to have than actually being a need to have.

QRCC2B - Apply to them, See what happens but I would say make VERY VERY sure that you are happy with the destinations (research the destinations etc.) Eg. There has barely been a seize fire agreement in place in Lebanon and BMED crew are staying in Beirut, before the runway has even been properly repaired.

On the flipside though they did get the crew out of the country rather efficiently when the first bombs dropped, if that is any consolation.

I hope you make the right decision for you. I made the right decision for me by leaving them.

Good Luck!!!

Just returned from a 4 day Beirut on Friday. One of my best trips yet! What Lebanon needs is to get things back to normal as quickly as is safely possible. BMED crews staying in Beirut is part of that process. We wouldn't be going if it was unsafe, and the runway worked just fine

Regards

Mike

Thank you for your reply!

I know of the destinations and a lot about the airline. Done a lot of research. They probably don't like what they see as they have rejected my application several times? Might be a good idea to ask for feedback if they reject it again, would they give it?

Hello ,
There are many airline's out there why would you want to apply to BMED so many time's ? , Have you ever thought of applying to British Airways , Virgin , Jal , Ana , Silverjet , Easyjet and charter Airlines (Which pay very well , but you work hard ) .

Also a good start is to apply as a passenger service Agen't for a Airline . An at least when passenger's ask you Question's you will be able to answer them . Maybe you need more customer service experiance .

Good luck , And remember Airline's will not give feedback !!

Hello ,
You should write down loads of customer service example's that you have given / received in the past and remember them . Also go to the B|MED website www.flybmed.com and learn everything about B|MED and it's franchise relationship with British Airways. For example Benefits for BMED are:
  • Using globally recognised name, livery and flight code of British Airways
  • British Airways becomes world wide sales agent for BMED
  • BMED passengers able to join British Airways' Executive Club
  • Access to UK regional and international traffic fed into Heathrow
Benefits for British Airways are:-
  • Replacing unprofitable British Airways routes with positive revenue contribution
  • Introduction of the British Airways product to new destinations
  • Increased revenue from internationally connecting traffic
Good Luck
