Hi all,

As an ex Bmed employee and ex BA employee, I would like to say that both airlines are great in their own right. There will be some challenging times ahead as Bmed gets used to new ownership, the industry is ever changing and I guess this is the sign of the times perhaps. I still have friends at Bmed and I am thankful that they have not lost their jobs.

As for the bickering/rivalry, I see no point in it and ask yourself, what would that achieve?

Peace and good wishes.

Wow Bmed...wonderful mature and professional attitude towards BA there. Its a well accepted fact that if it had not been for the BA franchise there probably would not be much of Bmed left to be purchased by BMI.

I am also concerned that they may push the BMI moral onto Bmed which will be somewhat sole destroying for many. Also ask yourself...Will you be remaining in T4 or will you be moving to T1 and be handled my aviance? Eeek! T4 is a kip but its far better then being stuck in the Queens Building and the central area in general!

Having said all that, I have a good few buddies in BMI who are happy enough with it for the time being. Doing their best to avoid the A330 but sure, who can blame them?

I wouldnt worry to much about the short haul routes, its going to take a long time to merge the crew into one unit and by then we wont have many S/H routes out of LHR. So the amount of S/H flying will be minimal. You will probably find yourself needing to find somewhere to stay for a couple of nights to do a day or two of S/H then a trip.

Congratulations BMED!

Well done to all my former colleagues at BMED on securing a future. I was sweating 'towards the end' as the negative financial waves began to flow in over the months. BMI have capitalised on a unique opportunity, to expand their network with a diciplined workforce. In time there will be fundamental changes, but at least the mortgages are being paid. In the meantime, save your pounds. All the very best

Apprently no one has been told anything yet as no one knows how the companies will intergrate, whether it will be a merger or they will stay as seperate operations. This is up to BMI and they haven't decided this yet.

Bmed will be maintaining the current franchise agreement with BA until October so I imagine not much will happen before hand. But I imagine over the next few months BMI will announce what they intend on doing with the integration!

I really dont know where you have got these ideas?! on the strength of your post I have just rung the PM's office to find out more info and have been told NO such things have been said! all that has been put in peoples' dropfiles is a list of frequently asked questions that the company hopes to be able to answer in due course! please be sure of information before posting it here, particularly in relation to peoples' jobs. I dont wish to wag a finger but posts like that get all our hopes up only to have them dashed again!
