Jetconnect dont offer an EBA, they work either under a collective agreement or individual contract. The collective agreement is governed by FARSA (the nz union).

If I were you, and you didnt mind leaving Australia I would take Jetconnect, nothing beats being a full service FA, you will get more overnights and better layovers and HELLO! you will have cleaners come and clean your aircraft after your 10 hour HNL!!

Leane7 can probably offer you better advice as she is LH, I work for Jetconnect SH.

Good Luck!

hahahahahaha
man are you serious???
SINCE YOU ASKED, THIS IS MY THOUGHTS.
i work for jetconnect/QANTAS Long Haul out of auckland, im origionally from sydney. i moved to AKL for the job..
it may seem like a good idea now but do me a favour mate... if your from australia... stay put... if your from New Zealand take jetconnect/QANTAS long Haul, its still a great job and a fabulous lifestyle.. but if you ask me, not worth moving to NZ for it.
jetstar international will offer you much better EBA, not that jetconnect even has one..lol. even with the new industrial relations laws, your still ahead buddy. more rights, better place to live, you have your friends there, more money, more everything... thats why its called AUSTRALIA. and thers no other country like it.

if your from australia, living in new zealand is like going back 50years in life. unless your from a really rural area in ozzy.

you can pm myself or LEANE7 if you want any further info.
we would be glad to steer you in the right direction.

take care,
think hard about it. the choice is yours. thats all.

the only reason i ask is that, i have attened the recent moring tea and I have herd that the conditions were equal to or better than the Jet Connect Team.

I was just after a rough layout like max hours, pays etc. I will probably email LEANE7 to get a better idea

Cheers

Sebby,

The CEA that you work under at Jetconnect is essentially the same as an EBA in Australia - it is a legally binding document between the Union (FARSA) and the Company.

The only reason so many people at Jetconnect are on an individual contract is because they don't want to pay union fees.

Unless things have changed recently though, the individual contracts were always identical to the FARSA CEA.

They have been changed for a long time, nowadays if you do not pay your union fees you will not recieve any of the benefits that FARSA fights for, you represent yourself and bargain with the company on your own.

A difficult and drawn out process. . .

In my opinion the union is useless in NZ, the only time they would come in handy is if you had a disciplinary hearing to attend, but even so its very hard to get fired in new zealand without receiving your 1 thousandth warning!

Ozzy

You must be one of the party animals that came over Ozzy...

I always find AKL comparable to MEL (Maybe thats why i love going their??)!!! think its very similar in layout, weather, people, clubs...etc..

Depends what your after mate.

I have no idea what the newbies are on, but their is only 2 pay scales, conditions are vague with anything goes attitude!

But if you really want to fly, dont let anything stop you! Its a fantastic job, we have lots of fun, and as i always say its what you make of it!!! Have a ball, do lots and you wont regret anything- i have seen amazing places, met amazing people and above all the crew in AKL are fun, friendly and outgoing!!!!!

Cheers

PS: I think this is the last recruitment for a while if they get the numbers they are after!

This is absolutely not the last recruitment for awhile - I have been involved with it and they wanted 200, they havent even come close with the apps they got. They have really been scraping the barrel !!

And many of the short haulers that tried were unsuccessful too as they have a real shortage at SH bases . . .

I'm offended.

50 years behind?

Mate!

Do you guys still smoke indoors in pubs and clubs in Oz like the neanderthals that you are? What's taking you sooooooo long?

We've been smoke free for 2 years!

That's why it's called 'AUSTRALIA' is it?
Coz you're soooo far ahead?

Why don't you show some sensitivity?
Mate instead of dissing the place, if you don't like it then f-off back to Seednee.
