Angel FLYING FOR THE UN-UNITED NATIONS

I am wondering if anyone can tell me how is it possible to apply for position as Cabin Crew for the United Nations?

I think this will put a huge spark to the job because right now i feel kinda stale. I am very involved in charitable work and would like to further learn and somehow be more involved.....but i would like very much to fly for the UN.

If anyone can assist i would be so grateful.

All flying for the UN is done by contractors so all crews come from the contracted company.

If you do fancy working for the UN go to www.un.org and click on your lingo and then on "employment" . All the jobs and how to apply are detailed there. Be aware however, that the recruitment process is extremely slow like up to or more than a year!!

Good luck!

I´m flying for the UN in Sudan

hey,curious this post!!!

I´m writing from the UN Guest House of Nyala(Darfur,Sudan)where I have a stopover. So yeah...I´m actually working for the UN.In Sudan the UN has some differents airlines, all aircrafts painted in white with a big -UN-black.

They have differets contractors such as:Swiftair(spanish company with one MD83 and one more coming soon),another from Ethiopia,Dash from Canada,...

The biggest is the MD,where I´m working.I just sent my CV to this company, based in Madrid, and now here I am.

The base in Sudan is Khartoum but other contractors are based in Kadugli,El-Fasher,...

Hope this information it will be helpful for you...

conditions

hola again!

actually we´re 2 crews for one MD-83 and each crew member has an average of 2-3 flights per week.

destinations?...
-mostly within Sudan:Juba,El-Obeid,El-Fasher,Nyala,Kadugli,and Port Sudan when the habob(sand storm)is in Khartoum, our base.
-Internationalntebbe(Uganda),Nairobi,Mombassa(Kenya),N´Djam ena(Chad),Abuja(Nigeria),...they change and normally we have nights outside our base once or twice per month. There are a lot of Nairobi and Entebbe flights but comin´back the same day.

service?...
basic,very!!!till one week only a glass of water.Now tea & coffee,and water.

pax?...
military personnel,UN staff, embassy staff,NGO staff,...very nice people from all over the world and all grades!

in my point of view the best passengers I´ve seen ever!

contract?
six months in,six out,...the spanish way!

further info...pls let me know!

Ħhasta luego!
