Hey guys,
Just wanted to say thank you for such helpful info!
I applied to Virgin in the middle of May, got my application form within a week, sent it back on the Monday, got the postcard back on the Wednesday, and the invite for the interview on the Saturday, so the application process doesn't always take 28 days!
My group interview is on the 9th June - is anyone else going to be there?
I'm nervous but excited - I think I've probably got the qualities they're looking for, but wanted to check whether Virgin have a preference for bubbly, outgoing people as a general rule? Is there such a thing as too bubbly perhaps?
Any help would be most appreciated - I guess I'm just a little worried that my nerves will manifest themselves as over-bubbly on the day!

Interview on 19th June
Hi All,
I have received my interview date back and it is on the 19th June. I have been thinking of applying for a while now. My best friend is currently a working as cabin crew for Virgin and I have been on 5 trips with her so far. Each trip has made me want it more and more. The reason it has been a big decision for me is the money, giving up a career which I have built up over the last 12 years and the fact that I am 29.. But I have decided to bit the bullet and go for it. So if anyone has any tips about the day – they will be greatly appreciated. I agreed with some of the messages – that if we find out exactly what is going to be asked – it will result in answers coming across as fake. But any format of guidance will be greatly appreciated.

The money played a huge part for me too, not that I'm on a hell of a lot now, but I'd definitely be taking a pay cut, and when you're looking at these kind of wages, every penny counts!
Knowing the questions in advance may seem like it's giving an unfair advantage to some, but when you think about it I'm sure the recruiters can spot someone who's rehearsed their lines to perfection as it'll *seem* really fake. Not to mention that it's not the only thing that they'll be looking for!

Hi Everyone!
Ive been reading through all the posts nervously as i have been invited for an interview with Virgin on the 14th!!
Was wondering if its best to wear a trouser or skirt suit and if i should wear my hair up or down? Silly things to worry about really but after reading everything else most of my questions have been answered! Any other tips on how to make a good impression would be great tho!

hello all i am 23 used to fly on the747 for 3 years and had a blond moment and decided to go 9-5 biggest mistake of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I applied to Virgin in 2003 and was invited for an interview. We were all told it would be a really relaxed day but it couldnt be further from the truth, the three assesors were scary, i havnt had the courage to go back and from what ive heared i dont want to go back.
Friends who have gone over have said its not very friendly and people have gone on trips and not seen other crew till its time to return home. I was quite disturbed to hear about the pilot who committed suicide and nobody checked on him for days.

With all due respect I am crew for Virgin and have been for the last 3 and a half yrs. I have yet to experience a flight where I have heard from nobody. Yes on some trips I like to just chill out and have some "self time" on others I like to go out and get absolutely blitzed! I believe it is down to each individual to decide when they land if they want to be "ont their own" or hang about with other crew. Most crew swap numbers and arrange to meet for breakfast or lunch etc etc. However if someone doesnt give me their number, then I wouldnt check on them every day? hour? minute? The job at Virgin is what you make it. We are all adults. Did your friend try and see what other crew were doing?

Gpik there is no need for a nannying service on any airline like you said we are all adults, im the first one to do my own thing, but nothing annoys me more than crew taking it apon themselves to deliberately exclude themselves from socialising with other crew, whats wrong with the odd call to your senior or a crew member who is new, im not saying make a huge issue of it, if they want to be left alone then fine, its their choice, but surely some of the desinations you fly to you would make an issue of keeping in touch with each other.

Yes totally agree with you , however its up to the individual to instigate it, have never come across a whole crew that intentionally distanced itself from one person. I think your mate was very unlucky when she did, regards

Try not to let your nerves get the better of you!
I had a Virgin interview in March and was sooo gutted not to make it through to the second half.
When I was driving home I realised I had made loads of little mistakes. When you first arrive and they come down to meet you, make sure you smile and say good morning to all three and make eye contact, that is so important. I was so nervous that I did things like sitting on my hands because I didn't know what to do with them
! I also got nervous reading out loud which is really unlike me.
The three assessors seemed really friendly but I got a bit confused as to what they were actually looking for, i've got a lot of customer service experience and I'm "bubbly"!!
Anyway I've decided to reapply in July because I'm going to work for Virgin, even if it takes forever...wish me luck!!

Hi Millymoo, I dont think you can go wrong by wearing a smart skirt suit and have your hair up. It helps them picture you in uniform and gives a better idea as to how you will come across out on line as crew. It might sound a bit sexist but its just human nature. Top Tip, pop a bit of red lippy on, then you'l really look the part. Good luck!

I think your right... a skirt will also make me feel a bit more glam and give me a bit more confidence.
Does anyone know if they weigh you at your interview. I weighed myself on the scales in boots and ive come up 5lb heavier than the ones i have at home!! are they strict on weight? (im not too heavy 9st 9 on my home scales!)

hey there!
yes they weigh you and take your height, but don't worry i got both wrong in my application and im in week 4 of my training.
just smile alot and red lippy definately helps.

training is going good, it's very intense but as long as you put the work in, you'll be fine
6 weeks, 1st week just an intro into the company, 2nd week is avmed, such as if someone has a heart attack etc.
weeks 3 and 4 are sep and they are very intense, i have a great group of people so we just help eachother.
5 and 6 are serivice, routes, rosters, etc
i keep telling myself it will be worth it

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has posted infomation here! I have found it so helpfull throughout applying to Virgin and it made my interview experience far easier and less worrying! (Had my interview on wednesday)
Just wanted to add that i had both a memory test and a maths test at my interview, but was not weighed or measured. The recruitment people were lovely and made the day as relaxing and enjoyable as possible!
Now waiting for the results of my interview... 7 to 14 days seems like forever...

advice on hong kong base recruitment
hello everyone i'm a new member but i need some help.
so virgin will launch a recrutiment campaign (walk in) in hong kong very soon, and i was thrilled to know that they're hiring hong kong base again. however, they're looking for someone who has 3 years customer service experience this time. i'm a fresh graduate from college so i don't have 3 years working experience
but i did work for other airline as an intern for a month. so i'm really frustrated now, should i still have a go?

Personally id go for it!
Just draw upon your experiences from college and your work experience to show them that you are a peoples person, work well in a team etc... you have nothing to loose!!

Virgin Interview quick info (..again)
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Virgin Atlantic still do math test as part of their interview process? I have an interview, well more like a 'Cattle Call' I willl be attending thats coming up soon and although I am confident in my Flight Attendant skills, I dont really like maths without my trusty calculator, basic stuff I am fine with (as long as I can scribble on a bit of paper) but if there is some form of maths test....how hard can it be right...hhhhmmmm I wonder?
