Virgin

I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me with what to wear in my application photo. I got some photos done today wearing a black suit and co-ordinating scarf so hopefully they'll turn out ok.

I have a couple more questions about the application......

How do the references work? do you provide them with reference contacts after they offer you the job????

Also, the the question that asks 'Please give details of other qualifications or special experience you feel may be relevant to your application' I can't think of anything to put here, I did a cabin crew course with ready 2 fly. Should I put that down?

Sorry, one more...... The requirements state 'educated to gcse standard' I have a grade C for Maths and a D for English Language and a D for English Literature. Will this effect my application?

Thank you so much, you've all been really helpful

I'd say if you made the effort to take a relevant course, then adding it to the application form shouldn't do any harm at all.
Good luck!

Foreigners in Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Girls and Boys,

First of all I would like to say hello to all of you. I saw VAA web site about terms and conditions to became CA (age over 19, holding EU passport etc.) and I am wondering if it is really possible to be offered a CA position when you are foreigner.
Any ideas?
I would like o apply soon and just want to know if I have any chances as a person from another country.
Thanks for any info

Hello BJG,
As long as you have the legal right to live and work in the UK then it is more than possible for you to apply for a job with Virgin or indeed any of the airlines based in the UK. My housemate is crew for Virgin and she says there are loads of non-british crew with the airline and I fly longhaul for BA and I am also foreign...(Well Irish is not that foreign but it is a different country), but in recent months I have flown with numourous Spanish, Italians, French, Russion, Isreali, Slovenian, Irish, Canadian, Greek, Scandanavian and Lebanese crew who all have the right to live and work in the uk!!! So dont worry about it, you will still be eligable!!!

How difficult is it to obtain the right to live and work in the UK. So does that mean a EU passport is not necessary?

Hello,
Congratulations Gizmogaz, well done.
I don't know anything about B&B but I can ask in my company if you like, about the interview, was it something like Dorset CAbin Boy described on the first page?
Let me know
Thanks BJG

FLY By 1980,

And does anyone know if its true that u only get the job with va on the second/thrid interview!!!!
this is not true. My Girlfriend now works for VAA. She had never applied to the airline before, but she was given an interview and was succesfull. So rest assured that if you are right for the job you will get it!

As for the maths test, I am not sure. I shall ask her when she comes home about that one.

It is obvious that the standard of cabin crew has been declining with Virgin over the last few years. Fatter and more stupid would probably describe it best.
If the Maths test is no longer set, then God help us, because the standard of spelling of the last few potential recruits posting leaves me with a deep sense of forthcoming disaster.
CP32

CP32, your post also leaves US with a sense of forthcoming disaster at Virgin if you work for them

Please Members NO replies on this subject, it doesn't deserve any.

Thank you

commuting to work

Hi everyone,
I am looking at applying for virgin and was wondering whether a lot of the crew have chosen to live close to their base or whether they commute from home. I live near birmingham so it would probably take me approx 2 and a half hrs to drive to lhr/lgw so im not sure whether this is suitable or not. Do any other crew commute this distance? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx

Can you request to be based more at LHR if you live closer etc.???? (as I do!)
Any help would be much appreciated
