Bmi Longhaul (man) Recruiting!!!!!!

Just to let those of you know who might be interested. BMI are looking for crew on there longhaul program out of man. They are looking also for in-flight Chefs!!!
For crew, you need to be 5'2 and 6'2, at least 19yrs old and have the right to work in the U.K. together with full UK national insurance no. In addition you must have at least 4 GCSE at grade A-C including English and Maths with 12mths customer experiance and live within 1hrs drive from the airport. For the chef you must hold a food hygiene cert together with NVQ level 2/3 professional catering qualifications or BTECNational Diploma in Hotel and Catering management.
They are recruiting internally at the mo in preparation for the new Man - Toronto service due to be announced this week. But they won't get enough crew as they can't afford many crew from other bases as they are very short at LHR especially!
I can tell you that as a junior on the longhaul you probably take home more than BA junior crew on Longhaul. Including allowances you can take home between £1,000 and £1,800. this is obviously based on the amount of trips you do in a month which avarages at about 4-6, that includes one back to back.
The inflight chef just works in "The Business" cabin and is quite cushy, with them taking home the same wage as a Flight Supervisor Grade 2.
If you want to know anymore then just ask. But I can tell you that we do have a great laugh and get paid, well probably the best in the industry at the mo. plenty of holidays and great people to work with.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!
You can send your C.V. to;

Hello all. I'm a forum newbie and very interested in the bmi recruitment drive. Can anyone tell me if the positions at MAN are likely to be seasonal or perenant. Also, could there be a chance that successful applicants would be put on bmi baby or is that a seperate recruitment programme altogather.
Thanx guys.

mmm.....not sure about bmi crews earning more than Main Crew at BA on long haul. [main crew is much nicer than junior crew]

Short haul Main Crew LHR based earn those figures as quoted by "fly me".

bmi are ALWAYS short at LHR due to poor £, and T&C.

May I also warn of an Incharge Crew Member based at MAN ex BHX who bulled and intimidated crew with lies.
Even after I left that company this person tried to slag me and others down who tried to stand their ground. A double BRU was bad enough- a transatlantic? Christ!

Does anyone know if it is just longual or if you are expected to do some short duties also. If so how many short trips to you get and how many long haul trips do you get? is it possible to commute?

Hi
What long haul do BMI have? I know theres a Washington, Chicago and there will be a Toronto. So if you are on Long Haul is that all the flying you do or is it mixed with short haul?

fly me. Whilst I don`t doubt your intelligents, whether new contract or not I`d be interested to see these allowances and how they are being worked out. I don`t do WW and have no intensions of doing so. But on LHR SH new contract the allowances come out with the figures you quote.

If bmi pays this sort of dosh, would BA crews not be jumping ship as bmi crews do to join BA???

As for the person I`m talking about ...then you must have known that they were like that as well ie.. as I described huh???!!!!

I take it you were in the "Fan Club" then...I just find it a little odd that I leave a company, and I have NEVER experienced anything like that again. So I somehow doubt problem was on my side. Even after I left this person started up about me....Pleasure to fly with or not...who cares? It aint me!

Hey! Now I have B/TEC Hotel Catering Management, plus a few more Training Qualifications [gathered since well away from bmi]...shall I apply for this? mmm

Could anyone give me any information on the inflight chefs, what are the wages? do you wear a crew uniform?, do you do the same training as crew? Is there a hight and weight ratio for chefs.
How many flights could I expect to do a month, do you do sbys?

Any help appreciated,
thanks

Certainly interesting to see that user name "something" A2B`s first posting removed their inane rantings about me...Now on pprune we don`t name names so I can not and will not name the person. It is unfair and not pleasant. But I have a little feeling that the removed posting was by this person. It isn`t nice or pleasant to get named and shamed....but I hope you are not continuing how you were, and hopefully you now know how I felt and a few others did.

Regarding your bitter comment....no I am not and how could I be?

And lack of knowlegde on Aviation and being a dinner lady? mmm Naw love you have no idea

Now be nice.

Question

i also sent off my CV when i saw the post but have also heard nothing. Do you think it is worth calling them to inquire? Have noticed on a couple of the other threads people have interviews on thursday 12/02 and on sunday, is this for the same positions?

would be gratefull of any advice.
