No I haven’t heard a thing, hoping no news is good news. They did say at the assement day 6-12 weeks. We’re going into our sixth week now! Hopefully I’ll find out about a medical soon and any possible ground school dates!

Hi everyone,
I attended the assessment day for Melbourne on the 11th of September and my checks have been gradually progressing since then. I completed my reference and background checks late September. Completed my medical on the 10th of October. Been in contact with the Talent Acquisition team RE updates but I’ve been told there are internal processes that need to be completed. Getting a little anxious and worried since it’s been 7 weeks now. Has anyone from MEL been called in for GS? My RSA, First aid and water competency is still pending. Thanks everyone and good luck! :)

Quick q, are they still including hearing and eye test in medical? Or does QF do that later/separately?

Also the medical email wants you to pay first before you can book, were there many time slots available? I don't want to pay up only to find there's none for a couple of weeks.

thanks

Medical appointments were very generous with time slots and they did hearing and eye tests all in the same medical

The assessment day I attended had around 20 people... everyone was lovely so don’t worry. I’m not sure what they look for as I honestly couldn’t tell if they liked me or not. It was a surprised to see I made it to the next round. Just be yourself and enjoy :)

Baliboy,

work hard and study but make sure you take time out for a bit of fun and self care. Balance is key.

Thanks workinthesky. Things got a bit hectic for me, had to fly interstate short notice as family member was I'll and noe suddenly moving house so I haven't done my medical yet. Hopefully it won't be a problem

GS location

Most vs is in Sydney but if they still have the 737 SIM in Melbourne it's possible you'll spend time there too. I heard in the past that MEL base had done GS there and flew down to Sydney for a few days but I'm not sure if that was just a special case (maybe LH crew converting to SH?)

Hi Jess, I am based in Brisbane and had my assessment day on September 12th. It went for 3 hours and consisted of group activities we had to make a superhero with 6 features etc. Then we had a written assessment about emergency procedures so you read a piece of paper and answer the questions on the next page. Then was one on one interview and you actually get interviewed by flight attendants so it’s less daunting. 3 months later and I’m finally starting ground school tomorrow. So excited and so nervous. Our ground school is mainly in Brisbane. We go to Sydney for a couple days at the start and fly back home and do training here for 3 weeks. Then we fly to Melbourne for 24hrs. Then we’re off to Sydney for 2 weeks for service training, I graduate on 21st of January but have my first flight on 15th of January.
hope that helps.

Mam Melb

I was contacted by MAM about GS startling 17 Dec which would have been in Melbourne. I needed to give more notice so will do GS next year. They don’t have any dates for GS next year but could be either in Melb, Sydney or Brisbane they said.
