I know next year in MEL they are expanding to doing international flights from MEL base again, so I know they are increasing recruitment for that.

Barbs97- how many people attended your assessment day? What base is this for and did they say when they were wanting a ground school to start?
Good luck with the next stages!

Mn64- I think it's with the new routes to Asia that VA will be flying to next year. Possibly they need more cabin crew?

Hi aa1903 - Roughly 20. For MEL base and they said they had tentative dates for JAN and APR.

Thank you!

Congrats on getting to reference check!
Thanks for info
Did you notice a variety of ages in the other candidates? Just wondering if Virgin does hire older people too not just people in their twenties.

I'm really over the moon to hear I've been offered a place in GS starting the 10th of January in Melbourne. Let me know if anyone else here will be there.

Lulu, if it's what I remember, it's a comprehension test. Pay lots of attention to the extracts on the screen and answer relevant questions about what you just read.

Hey, did anyone put a photograph of themselves on the resume?

Also is the following steps correct from what i've read so far?

1. Online resume
2. if successful they ask for elevator pitch
3. If successful they ask you to come into Assesment day
- Introduce yourself, group activity, 1 on 1 interview
4. Reference check
5. Offer
6. Training

Thanks Ayana! And good to hear the news with you too! Swim test and medical have been done and medical results have been finalised with VA. The medical actually was easy peasy. Let us know when you get a GS date

Curiousguy101- No need to put a photo on your resume, they only require a passport photo for the recruitment day.

Flytofreedom- there were about 20 people at my recruitment day, of which about 5 were 40+, most people seemed to be mid twenties. There were a couple of young under 20 year olds. I've seen plenty of older flight attendants for VA, but no where near as many as QF have.

BrookeIsabelle- what was involved in your medical?

Also, does anyone think the salary is quite low? 41,000-44,000 including super for the first year. Unless you are under 21 and its your first f/t job, its not exactly an appealing number... especially in an expensive city to live in like Sydney.

Yep I've done my swim cert 😊. Have you? I'm guessing the next ground school won't be until February, so we have a bit of time to wait however it will be worth it.

Hi Sky and Ayana,
I'm in the Brisbane talent pool as well. Got an email last week asking for water comp. Went online and attached it. No word on when the medical or ground school. I can't wait.
I still need to do rsa and first aid, just holding off for a date to make sure they have 12 months when gs starts.
I'd love to know what's involved with the medical.
