For those size 14's worried about their BMI, I would say don't stress, I was just at the airport this morning and noticed a Jetstar cabin crew who would have been at least a size 18 so we all should be fine phew!!

Hi everyone😊🤗
I have really enjoyed reading this thread - so glad I found it.

I was just wondering if anyone could please give me a timeline on their application process with altara
I applied for casual cabin crew - MEL in July and received my email confirmation but still haven't heard anything about whether I was successful for a phone interview or not. I know it takes a long time but I'm starting to get a bit anxious!!!
Any feedback would be great
Thanks
Hi Emgrace...this is my timeline from Melbourne

27/06/2016 Did application for Cabin Crew
08/07/2016 Did video interview
11/07/2016 Received invite to recruitment day
13/07/2016 was recruitment day
a week later I hadn't heard anything so I emailed Altara who had incorrect email address that's why I didn't receive email..not sure how that happened as I have had same email all along..
Anyway I received email to say I had progressed which was a huge relief.
25/07/2016 they started checking references..only checked one :-) also they knew my previous employee did not do references (worked for Etihad)
05/08/2016 I received an email to commence Ground School 24/10/2016 and complete initial forms.
26/08/2016 received all documentation for medicals etc which I am in the process of doing.
I did receive a call to change my ground school to 02/10/2016 (I think that was the date) but I couldn't.

If I were you I would send an email as maybe something has gone wrong with your application..mind you I was worried when I then received email after I contacted them as I thought maybe I didn't get through.

Never know you might get call to next AD day.

Good Luck :-)

That's great news! It's all around the corner now for us. I received an email today in regards to uniform fitting. So I'm sure you should expect to receive that email shortly.

Thanks natd I'm so relieved that it's all over .. Had my medical today so happy I've received the green light 😌

That's great news to hear you received the uniform fitting email .. When is your date for that? Yes, I'm sure my email for that will be coming soon too!

For those that wanted to hear how the medical went and a little concerned about their BMI ...

Firstly, don't be worried about the BMI

When I arrived I was asked to do a urine sample (not completely sure why as I already did my drug and alcohol testing 10 days prior), then I was asked to do the hearing test and then the ear pressure test ... After that I actually got to meet the doctor, we chatted candidly for a while which was nice then he checked all my serology documents asked me to undress to underwear 😁😁😁 lol and then checked my stomach, checked heart, knee reflexes, lifted both legs seperately to 75 degrees, then asked me to stand up turn facing away from him, lift my arms up and down, bend and touch my toes (woo hoo I did it!!! I've been practicing that for a few weeks now) then asked me to squat ... Then I dressed and he weighed me, took height, my waist measurement and then asked me to read the second bottom line of the eye chart ... Then he completed the forms and gave me the green tick of approval .. I might add my doctor I used from the list was based in Brisbane

Good luck to all those still to do their Medicals, it's all good nothing to worry about

Hey everyone!

Just reporting back from the August GS that just finished today in SEQ. We all have our line checks soon over the coming fortnight, after which we will be full-fledged flight attendants.

I don't have anything specific to report about GS that you will need to know in advance. If anything, make sure you're very well versed with your drills that are in the pre-course pack.

If you have any specific questions, I'll endeavor to answer them. Other than that, I'm just stoked that GS is finally over.

Good luck angel14 you will be fine, you can work out your own BMI, weight divide by height then divide by height, mine came out at 24, and I'm a size 14 ... Which ground school are you located? It's interesting you have uniform fitting in 2 weeks I haven't heard anything on that yet and my ground school starts 17th October for BNE

Hey Teamglobal,

That's great news I knew you would be fine. Isn't it crazy how our doctors sort of did different things.

In regards to uniform fittings they emailed giving options of threee dates to pick from Tue 27 - Thurs 29 - and you also have to pick a suitable time between 10am - 3.30pm and it only goes for 30mins.

Hey slipspace! Congratulations on compleyeing ground school, you must feel so relieved. Just a few random questions.

1. What were the ground school hours like ( all day / night etc...)

2. Did they advise how long after the line check if all goes well, would you have a specific start date?

3. How many other people were in your ground school?

Thank you

1. The hours during GS were mostly 0800 to 1700, but depending on how quickly your class can push through the content, you may finish earlier around 1500 or 1600. And this does vary from day to day. One day you may have a 0900 start, and then the next a 0630 start.

2. To my knowledge, at the end of your check-to-line your in-flight trainer will officially sign you off, and the moment you fax the paperwork off to the appropriate parties, you're effectively live crew and can officially fly. Your first actual shift will simply depend on how crewing have made your roster for that month.

3. There were 22 people in my GS, but apparently, most GS's have a figure around 25 people or so.

Hope this helps.

Bne GC October

Hello everyone, so good to be following this page and seeing how everyone is going. I'm also a part of the October GS in Bne on the 17th. I've completed everything just waiting to hear when the uniform fittings are, has anyone else from the same GC heard anything yet?

Hi Slipspace,

Just checking in to see if you've done your like check as if yet?

And also I've now received confirmed uniform fitting time and all the other documents about grooming etc...

Can I ask when did you receive the contract and all groudnschool details ? and was that provided in the mail or by email?

Thank you
