I am also on the active hold list. Altara phoned to offer me Oct GS (SYD) a week ago but I turned it down as I am on the hold list for NTL base.
I was advised the next GS will be early next year, so we will have a bit of a wait.

Just a question for those that have completed the medical, can anyone elaborate on the type of stretches they were asked to perform, any chance you were asked to do one legged squats, or one legged squat to a seat and to restand one legged without aid of hands, support or other leg?
Hey Teamglobal - so I did my Medicals today ( Syd dr) I first did a urine test ( to send for drug testing, also had to breathe through the alcohol reading device (exactly the same thing that police use) ,followed by a hearing test ( which was so hard, you need great concentration haha - but I did pass, she said I did very well, surprisingly), then eye sight test and also checked things such as weight and height.
Then with the actual doctor I did :
- grip test in both hands ( sucked in my non-dominant hand haha)
- three push-up's leaning on the bed so easy haha!
- three squats just on both legs
- standing straight and touching your toes
- close my eyes, while my arms are folded on top of one another to see if I can balance ( basically like meditating )
- blow out air through this tube
And basically that's it he said I've passed but just have to wait for my drug reading results. But will receive a call by Monday for all clear confirmation.
It all cost $309
Hope that helps

Hey Natd, congratulations on passing your medical ...thanks for the info I'm happy to hear that it not too involved ... I nearly melted when I started your sentence 3 push-ups but was relieved to read it was against the bed ... Lol not bad coin $309 for such a simple medical 😳

Hello,
So I was just wondering for anyone who has gone through the whole process. As I've now completed my Medicals and criminal check etc... I know the final stage now would be for Altara/Jetstar to do a final review of all documents etc... Do they usually message to say all is good and that they will be sending out the written offer and acceptance etc... Or will it now most likely be quiet on there end until I commence GS?

Unless you are heavily obese and can't pass the medical they will put you through to GS anyway. The only test comes during ground school where you will be required to fit into the jumpseat harnesses. If you don't fit the harnesses, you will provably be offered to rejoin the next GS once you have lost some weight and can fit. You will need to fit both 320 and 321 harnesses to pass- You only get to fit the 321 harness when your on the a/c doing the famil. Roughly, if you are a size 16 you should fit ok. Don't stress too much on it

thanks Croissant2016
I can fit in the jump seat and I hate BMI as it isn't always the correct way to go...even the MFB don't use it any more they rely totally on fitness...also I'm a 14 trying to get back to a 12 :-)

You'll be totally fine then! I'm a 14.
I agree BMI is very incorrect! According to that I'm morbidly obese!

Hi everyone😊🤗
I have really enjoyed reading this thread - so glad I found it.
I was just wondering if anyone could please give me a timeline on their application process with altara
I applied for casual cabin crew - MEL in July and received my email confirmation but still haven't heard anything about whether I was successful for a phone interview or not. I know it takes a long time but I'm starting to get a bit anxious!!!
Any feedback would be great
Thanks
