Just wondering if anyone is prepared to share eba/contract information?

I'm thinking of applying (advertising again in Sep 16) but before I do so I would love to know about the rostered hours like minimum hours per roster and max hours, flying hours, are there rosters or are you on call all the time being casual.

Any info you are willing to share would be great

The sheer volume of information you have to take in is quite daunting, but it's definitely not impossible to learn all the content. Remember how many hundreds of JQ crew that are out there at the moment. They all successfully passed all those exams, and if you study hard, pay attention in GS, manage your workload, and pray a little bit too, there's no reason why you should fail any of the exams.

Spare a thought for other airlines where you are learning 4+ different aircraft types in GS, not here where there is just 1 aircraft.

I found that the equipment component to be the hardest, more so the theory not the practical. Make sure you are well versed on the correct preflight checks, operation, and precautions on all equipment to the best of your ability, ESPECIALLY with your 'Super Six'. You may also need to know the locations of the aforementioned as well.

But generally speaking, if your GS instructor has any handouts or homework, do them! Take the time to continually refresh your knowledge of the manuals (use millions of sticky notes), and continually quiz yourself using other members of your GS, and reciprocate to them likewise.

Thank you so much slipspace, you have put me at ease. It is very very daunting! Especially coming from the first week which was so relaxed. And I just stress, hehe... yes trying to remember all that equiptment is quite hard :/ but I am defiantly looking forward to happier days at the end of this week.

Truly thankyou so much for your advise! I will take it all on board.

I hope all has been well with you? Have you commenced flying!

Hi, I'm so glad I found this thread! I've just started my application for ADL base, and have been invited for a video interview. I've never done one of these before - does anyone have any tips? Does Altara use this video interview to gauge who progresses onto an AC? Thanks!

No problems at all natd. Remember to ask questions if you finding anything particularly difficult and you need help.

And yes! All of the August GS have their wings are now flying and loving it. You are going to love it too!

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying ground school.

I'm just going through the Altara application and it mentions that the ground school is unpaid. Is this true?

Hello there, Loving GS, lots of fun, extremely intense with information overload, and lack of sleep .. we are in week 3 and graduate next eeek phew!! Yes your correct ground school in unpaid, however when you complete GS You will receive a $500 completion bonus, followed by a further $500 bonus after completion of 1 year service, hope that helps ... gods luck to all who are currently going through the process

Hi all! I've just received my call that I will be starting GS on the 6th Feb in Sydney! has anyone gone through training at SYD? what are the hours like and is it located at the airport or the qantas centre? I need to start getting organised as I am NCL base so will be staying in Sydney for duration of training and want to limit travel time as I've heard the days are exhausting! (also - has anyone failed GS??)
