Hey Mn64, yes they did, but I think it's rather a brief one, more detail will be coming on day1. My training starts on the 27 Oct, and the EPs will start on the 31 Oct. Therefore I think I will be flying to Brisbane during the weekend

For the first 2 days I think just for detailed schedule or introduction, also will be having some grooming and makeup training sections

Just wondering of any updates from Sydney peeps?
I was at the recruitment day on 30th aug in Sydney and have completed reference checks but that's it so far!
Anyone past that point? I'm so anxious to know how long we will be waiting!

My assessment day was on the 23rd of August and I haven't heard anything after reference checks except for 2 emails saying thanks for your patience. I have a feeling us Sydney based applicants will be in this process for a while :/

Hmm... What I find interesting is how many ADs were held in SYD after ours.... Yet, everything seems to be on hold.
Almost feels better not knowing.
Just wanted to share with you that I too have received that last email on Oct-12.
I was just telling my friend how it sounds a bit cold with no 'active hold' and 'planning potential future ground schools' in it.
That part about 'we'll give you an update on your application in due course' sounded very distant from the previous one with 'we have some great news-you've passed this/that and now you're on active hold'...
Hope we get some good news soon, 'cause holidays are just around the corner and summer is too... Soon everything will go into sleep mode.

Active Hold - Applied on 22 May for QCCA SYD
Hey guys
Im so happy i have found this forum in regards to this "active hold" situation...
I had applied for the qcca syd position when it first opened in may this year.
I have successfully completed all required interviews, reference checks and ASIC.
I am feeling releived that I am not the only one who has been waiting for quite awhile now.
I received my first active hold email on the 23rd September and then another just recently on the 12th October.
Although they are reassuring us they are planning potential ground school it would be nice to have some kind of time frame.
Fingers crossed us sydney kids are going to be getting that golden call any day now.
I guess all we can do is stay positive & think that there is quite a few of us on this hold list so they must be planning an upcoming school that we will all be on together

I've just checked my mailbox and both email dates you've mentioned are exactly the same in my case.
You've mentioned you're on active hold and finished ASIC stage and I've noticed that those with ADs in Aug/Sept are one step behind, so if you don't mind me asking, was your AD early July?
Mn64 and myself are on the same page as you at the moment and we had it 7th-July.

My assessment day was on the 7th July in Sydney aswell.
I'm just in a bit of a pickle because I left my job thinking qantas was going to contact me any day now... and they haven't haha.
Silly move but I like to love my life on the edge 😜
I'm probably going to move to Sydney in the next couple of weeks and get a casual bar job or something until I hear the yes or no.
But I'll always post on here whenever I here something from them.
I just find it so bizzare because I didn't realise it was this hard to get into.
When I received my job with Emirates it took only 2 months! Super quick!
Qantas must be a very good company

yes it is strange that us July folk have been waiting so long, but I'm glad we found each other! I can't imagine going through this alone, you all have made this an enjoyable experience

I see that QLink is advertising for cabin crew based in Brisbane. Does anyone know how long you've got to commit to QLink job wise after being provided the training? Cheers!

I too received another email last week saying they are still working through their internal processes. For those that have received this email/active hold email etc don't be disheartened... I really believe and have heard from people at Qantas that basically we are the next "cabs off the rank" so to speak... Hopefully won't be long now until we receive medical/offer etc if all goes well... Hang in there everyone... My AD was back in July in MEL for those interested...

Its 4 months to the day since I had my A.D, and I just had my golden call!!!!!
I'm actually speechless, start date is 16th November for sydney base.
Guys hang in there, I know it's a long arduous process but you'll get there and let me tell you it will feel amazing when you do!!!!!!
