It's fun but VERY stressful. There are two parts to training - service and emergency procedures. EPs was the stressful part. You'll need to take a lot of notes and study each night. No body in my class failed but a few had to resit exams they didn't pass. The pass mark is 80%. Graduation felt so good!! 😀😀

They should email you a pre course booklet closer to your start date.

I found it stressful because I hadn't flown before. i don't really think you can do much to prepare for ground school. You will be emailed links to documents to download and bring along. The most difficult part of the training is the Emergency Procedures. This is tested regularly by practical and written assessments. You'll need to put your personal commitments aside during the training and focus on the content. All the very best. 😀😀

All the information you need is on the Qantas website under the careers section - Current Job Vacancies. There you will find all the criteria required for positions available. Everyone has to start somewhere :-) Best of luck :-)

^^ get as much face to face customer service experience as possible between now and your birthday. if you can show maturity and decent work experience, then you still have a good chance although i would personally recommend waiting until you are 19 at least and spending the first year you are 18 getting some solid hospitality/fine dining experience

Hi, i have applied for the QCCA Mel Base with applications that close on May 23rd,
i just have a few questions,
as i currently live in Adelaide, how much notice do they give you for Assessment Days
what if i can't swim a full 50m unaided do they actually make you swim laps?
Very nervous about my application, after 12years in the same job (Management in McDonalds) i have decided on a career change

You don't need to rush the 50m. You can literally swim in any position at your own pace.

May QCCA Long Haul MEL/SYD position
Hi all, who here has applied for the long haul out of SYD/MEL? Applications only just closed a few days ago... Has anyone heard anything yet? I applied for MEL base. Fingers crossed for us all!
Does anyone know what aircraft we will be endorsed on? 380 or main fleet?
I believe the next step is online video, but can't be sure - can anyone shed light on this?
Exciting times!
