Hello, I believe they will contact both referees, as they did in my case. I had one that was too long ago (from 2008-09) even though as a travel agent was more relevant I thought, so I had to provide them with another.
I have just had my Alcohol and other drugs test yesterday (AOD.) They tell you that you pass on the day which is fab. Now medical tomorrow. Seems pretty extensive judging by the forms. So many things they apparently check. Not looking forward to injections :-0

I went to the Syd AD & have had both referee checks as well plus also applied for my ASIC. What AD did you attend? I haven't received any information on a medical check or ground school as yet.
I'm curious as well, what kind of injections? Also, what base did you put as your preference?
I'm so excited but also nervous!

Seems like few people are onto medicals and the rest, like me are waiting for the email of either 'on hold' or 'medicals' or 'the thank you but no thank you'.
I understand the size of the job for HR re Cabin crew references an paperwork wow... so many applications Australia wide!!!
lots of word re feb ground school, guess will have to wait for the member here to advise a g.s start date.
The needles are for Hep A and Hep B.
I am still waiting to here from QF re my progression for medical.

Hi everyone! I applied for Brisbane. I am also waiting to hear the outcome of ASIC checks. Did anyone also apply for Qantaslink at the same time as QCCA? I would much prefer QCCA over Qantaslink. I am getting a little anxious after reading others are up to medicals here in Brisbane. I really hope to hear this week. 😀😀

For those who went to mel recruitment 10th dec. I went to it and received a phone call on yesterday 2.30pm if I have received an email regarding medicals. I didn't so they resent another.

Has anyone from Brisbane heard anything past security?! I'm getting very concerned that I haven't heard anything yet. I know those that went for MAM QantasLink are at Medicals already. Just want to see where everyone else is at? Thank you

Brisbane base here. I received pre employment medical email on the 8th of Jan. Just to confirm I'm for MAM Aviation, not QCAA so that might be the reason for the delay. I do hope my ASIC and background check gets processed quick enough for the ground school in Feb though.

JFK QF overnights?
Question?
How dose that 747 LAX -JFK pairing work? is it a return cause of duty hrs for long haul crew or a overnight?
Same with the A380 to LHR, do the LHR QF crew take it from DXB onwards or after rest in DXB do the Aussie crew take it all the way to LHR sometimes?
Those be longs trips... just a thought. any1 in the know?

References checked sometime that week (both)
Asic email - 24th dec
Asic handed in after christmas
Medical email 12th
Medicals and tests done 14th
I also got an email about people possibly going into hold before the medicals, and that it would mean you would have to wait until they recruit again
Hoping my Asic is done quick, because i'm ready!

Hi, just wondering if anyone who attended the MAM assessment day in Sydney on the 8th progressed through to Medical? Or still at reference. I'm at the reference stage, but haven't heard a thing. Is this because they have already selected the candidates?

I still haven't heard anything past security for QCCA BNE. I know a few people are at Medicals. Guess they've already selected who they want. I really hope I get to medical I'll be devastated if I don't get it!

The LAX-JFK is operated by SYD and AKL base 747 crew.
Brisbane base complete the BNE-LAX-BNE sectors, but the base still runs on a seniority based system, so the LAX trips rarely if ever go to juniors.
It's been several years since any SYD base made it all the way to LHR, but there was a bit of cross crewing recently with the LHR base and MEL base. It is a 8-9 day trip.
