No I was on hold for next Melb GS but that’s not going to happen this year. My 12 months since AD is up this month so I’ll drop off before things get up and running again. Fingers crossed they may pull up old hold lists to fast track recruitment when things start moving again. It makes no sense to go through all the time and expense of recruiting when they have so many on hold and ready to train. But I guess time will tell.

This doesn’t make sense?

What exactly are you trying to say with this comment cause it doesn’t make much sense. I would guess the lack of knowledge would be due to not actually being an employee QF.. right?

FYI mainline and world refer to aircraft fleet. QAL and QCCA are contracts and refer to employee conditions.

So if in fact it was QAL you were referencing. There’s only one reason they have there conditions and that’s because they fought for them over decades.

end of story

p.s I’m not QAL in-fact I’m QCCA ... you’re welcome!

People. do not choose casual jobs they do it to survive because we have created a world of those who have and those who have not.

sorry but this kind of isn’t a surprise, so many of us who are in the role have been out of a job for well over a year

Hey MN64, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, Ive never been in this position of such *Active Hold* I wasn't trying to suppress the current situation with Covid-19. This is my first time applying for a airline and being accepted. So understandable i was very excited. However i just wanted to find a clear line of what * Active Hold* meant.

Currently in the final process (I hope) of my application as CSA at Melbourne Airport!!

Already done my medical, already done the background checks and have all ticks except for the HSE and Card printing.
Should I be solidly confident that i'm through?

"Mainline" and "world" sounds like BA, no one used those terms when I was in QF. It was Long or Short Haul, and the new guys were QD and latterly QCCA. "World" must have come in within the k art few years, or it's just newer crew adopting a term from another airline. Like "hatracks" which haven't been called that in QF since 1969 🤣

I think it's some sort of health & safety evaluation but not 100% sure.

Thank you Danigirl.

I got a call from Qantas this morning asking me to go for a medical and to send my RSA, First aid and water comp certificates. Its for Cabin Crew QantasLink Melbourne. They said there is a ground school in May and also in June.
