Reference checks
I went to an AD in Sydney on Tuesday.
Just received an email from XRef requesting references but on the Qantas careers portal my application says no pending steps.
So should I be excited? Or is everyone getting this email just in case we get through to reference checks.

I spoke with them again yesterday and I verbally agreed to accepting the offer. They said they will send me the contract in a few days. I was sent an email not long after to provide further documents first aid cert, rsa, water competency cert etc... I start ground school 29th May. Hope it all goes well for you ^_^

Seems people who attended this weeks ADs have progressed to ref checks. I did not so expect an unsuccessful email to drop in. Has anybody got their rejection emails from SYD ADs yet?

congratulations to those who have made ref checks . For everyone else still waiting to hear back hang in there guys I’m on the same boat . I was at an assessment day Monday afternoon . Hope we hear back soon ! And well done for making it to an AD xxx

I have also applied for SYD Base external. Had AD this week. No email as of yet. Taking it as no news is good news! Someone in my AD did ask when reference emails would be sent out and the answer they received was by next Friday

Medical assesment
Hey guys first post here!
- I have all green tickets for my ASIC just have HSE and Printing as N/A
- All my forms are in
- My medical is on monday
After that how long do you think till I will be offered a a starting date? Are they offering QCCA or Mainline, am I more likely to get BNE, MEL OR SYD

And for the medical test, yes they will ask you to do 20 pushups as well as 20 sit ups, 3 squats, lift up 25kg/32kg, plank on one side etc. It was like a full on PT sesh. Hope this helps!

Hi, sorry it seems my reply didn't go through. I received a call on Wednesday from Qantas again asking if I verbally accept this offer, confirming if I can start ground school and if I have any holidays in the next 6 - 12 months etc. Then she said she will send in the contract in the next couple of days and that I will receive another e-mail after this phone call to upload further documentation. The documents I will need to upload are my first aid, RSA and a water competency certificate where I will need to be assessed to swim 50m unaided and tread water for 3 mins from a certified lifeguard.

I'm just concern about 20 push ups...
cuz I don't think it is even possible for female....
