Hi guys,
First time poster here. Just got a question in regards to applying for more than one cabin crew positions with Qantas. Applied for Melbourne International cabin crew and also found that there was a Qantas-link position going in Melbourne too. Should I just keep it to the one application and only apply for the one I really want? Would there be any issue with applying for both? Really want to get my foot in the door and think working for qantas would be amazing.

Thanks

I haven't heard anything yet either. I found the end of the questionnaire submit process seemed 'unfinished' - so wondering if there was a glitch...

Just out of interest - QF International seems to be the 'goal' that many crew have within the industry. Why is this? Is it better to crew internationally than domestically - if so, why?

If we are going to be put on 'hold' and wait for ground school (if and when we get through AD...) I hope they keep us up to date... it seems incredibly long.

With these two thoughts in mind - WHY is it worth the wait - I'm excited to hear why we're all SO keen! (Mine stems from needing a career change that doesn't involve a set routine - some excitement please!)

Thoughts??

Crossing my fingers and toes for us all...

QCCA Long Haul Flying!

As a current Longhaul QCCA FA in SYD, I have to say Longhaul is not the be all end all. I started my flying career over 15 years ago with Qantaslink in MEL on the Dash 8, and these were probably the best times of my working career. Remember its Longhaul flying, so that's exactly what it is. Your away for many days at a time, minimum time off between trips, back of the clock flying, you're always tired. You will be working on big aircraft with massive loads of passengers to look after. You will be working with a different team every time you come to work. That said if this still sounds like you then give it a go and best of luck everyone.

So you do you enjoy your job? After reading this I get the vibe it is not something you would recommend. What are the positives?

Is not just a job it’s a lifestyle you have to be passionate about whatever your in pursuit of, otherwise it just becomes a job. Yes there is aspects of the job that are different from land jobs. But if your person that likes being on stage and communicating as a team then it’s an exciting role in itself. The perks are being able to deliver a high standard and executing emergency situations if they arise which is 89% of the job. Customer service should be heartfelt. I found that if your genuine and compassionate to pax they treat you with the up most respect, in saying that you can’t win everyone over but knowing you did a good job and tried is satisfying enough. Travelling to different locations and destinations is exciting but shouldn’t be the main focus of the industry.

Exactally - there is lots more to this role then jetsetting - and only those who truely love the role itself last. I can say hand on heart I love going to work and my role each and every day. Those who just saw it as a job didn’t last. It’s hard on your body shift work, and you can miss out on lots of occasions due to being in the air and away.. to me this isn’t a job, it’s my life.

Do any INTERNAL applicants for the most recent INTL QF role advertised, know what the next stage is after the interview questions?

I have yet to hear back, so hoping that it is positive sign ...
