I haven't as Internal digital interviews must be completed by today 15 May. They will get back to us after it closes, so hopefully in the next few days. For External applicants it seems like they have spread out the digital interview process, my friend just got an email to submit the digital interview. I am being optimistic and the process will be fast.

Hi everyone
Just wondering if there are any other MEL people that are starting ground school in June. Would be great to have a chat.

Hi All!

I've been looking at this forum for a while and thought i'd share my timeline to help out others and share that there is hope for all! I don't have any previous flying experience or speak another language, but I have worked and studied in Hospitality for many years which I think they liked.

24th December 2015 – Applied online, received confirmation email
14th January 2016 – On hold email
26th April 2016 – On hold email
3rd June 2016 – On hold email
11th June 2016 – Invitation to attend open day, complete video interview & online Hogan assesments
16th June 2016 – Attended group interview day
20th June 2016 – Email confirming progress to reference check stage
1st July 2016 – Received background check email
26th August 2016 – Reference checks & security completed and confirmed – On hold email
23rd September 2016 – On hold email
12th October 2016 – On hold email
8th November 2016 – On hold email
14th December 2016 – On hold email
20th February 2017 – On hold email
23rd March 2017 – Invitation to complete Medical & Drug test (March - May: delay due to waiting for appointments, medical reports, vaccines & left my RSA & swim tests to the last minute)
5th May 2017 – Call & email confirming cabin crew position in Sydney starting 5th June

Approx 16 months in total of waiting since first application - so don't worry if you haven't heard anything in a while. It's a very long process, so stick it out and you never know where you'll be in a year after applying anyway.

Is anyone able to direct me though to where I might find the routes that the mainline B747A330 and the Airbus A380 go? Also interested to see if many others are starting training on the 5th June in Sydney with me?

Can't wait to start now!

x

Is there anyone who can help me to find qantas uniform standards for MALE cabin crews please? I am waiting for the result from QCCA after finishing Medical checks last week.

I know it is a bit too early to think about my uniform but just too exited already :-$ (and my friend also asked me as well :-)) fingers crossed

For those that have done medicals -
1) How soon after the background checks were all ticked did you receive your medical email?
2) How long did results of the medical usually take?
3) How long after medical results submitted did you wait for the golden call?
*Applied in May 2016, and am currently overseas (if I don't go through, I will live here for awhile), so I'm just a little worried with the time frame of getting back to Aus before the SYD 24/5 and 5/6 GS start dates!
Any info much appreciated. Please and thank you in advance!
Hey there, don't stress about making the 24/5 class, it's been full for many weeks now

Hi there
I applied May 2016 and rec'd my golden call last week for training in Mel early June. My ASIC checks were completed (took about a month) in August 2016. I was then placed on "active hold" until end of April this year when I rec'd my medical email. I rec'd the email on a Friday, booked a medical for the Monday, had some vaccs on the Wednesday and the next day my doctor emailed my results to QF. Less than a week later I rec'd the golden call wohoo...
I believe the recruitment will be ongoing for some time now so hang in there and stay positive and I'm sure it will happen. Hopefully the new applicants wont have to wait 12 months until getting the job however it is a big possibility. Good luck.

I applied in November 15, first heard back last May, AD in July, references and ASIC took a few months then on hold until March. Got my GC about three weeks after the medical was done. So waiting is to be expected, please don't quit your job once you get your reference email or anything rash like that

Ooh a 2015'er like me, welcome! my timeline is very similar, but I applied in November. I'm starting on that date, too. So the destinations for 747 from Syd include San Fran, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Santiago, LA occasionally (heard it has done this a few times this yr)

A330 Shanghai, Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, Honolulu, Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing
A380 is limited to Dubai, LA, Dallas and occasionally Hong Kong

Can anyone who was progressed to AD invitation tell me how long it took to hear anything after completing the online assessment (it followed the video interview).

Cheers :-)

Has anyone here applied for a BNE base?
At the Assessment Day I said BNE or MEL but it seems all the GS coming up are for SYD or MEL right?

Bne base is usually difficuilt to get. It usually goes to internals. Change your preference if you can to syd or mel

During the assessment day, can you nominate two different bases?

If you read back a few pages of this thread , you should know that the waiting time varies for different applications. i applied in May 2015 and got my first invitation in July. However, depends on how fast you are at booking the appointments online because the available slots run out very fast . I missed two invitations in Sydney and did mine on the third one . I applied externally

For internally I don't think you need to do group assessment or medical check either to answer the questions above . That is a huge advantage
Thank you so much for all the details, what a wealth of information you are :-)

I did the video interview a few weeks ago, then got an email so quickly, just a few days later, asking me to next do the online personality assessment. I did the online test a few days later but haven't heard anything back since. I'm assuming it has to be staggered considering everyone will get their videos and online assessments done at various times.

Congratulations to everyone who's completed the whole process and are finally at the ground school stage, what a wonderful feeling it must be to have finally achieved your dreams :-)
